okay, so those of you that have an ap and are cardholders, do you book your room only discount with whatever discount comes out 1st? if you book and they release an ap discount better than your visa discount can you modify it?are the dates ya'll are talking about for 9/30-12/31 for the upcoming visa discount? i need one for feb.

I will have to watch here for when the codes come out, because when I went to sign up today, in my profile they asked for my SS#...NOPE!!! Never give my SS# over the internet.

Yes - but, you're AAA TA would need to be the one to contact CRO and get the ressie changed.

My DD starts school on Wednesday and she gets on the bus at 6:43am. I'll be ready to call at 7:00am! And, I took Wed-Fri off to give myself a "back to school" break. Sounds like that was a good idea so I can be home to watch for codes!

I'm hoping for Wednesday too. My DS4 starts preschool Thursday and I have to bring him at 8 AM and he is not really wanting to even go. SO I can imagine I will be stuck there for a while. Thursday there is almost no way I'll be able to call .

First answer - no blackout dates. Hmmmmm... might be potential here. So, here's what they quoted me...

This is for 6 nights, MYW tix for 4 (me, DH, DS12, and DS8), DDP + tax

POP - standard - $1,966.62 (my current package is $2,204.94) with AAA
nothing at POFQ
CSR - $2,302
AKL -just for the fun of it - $2,910.18.

Going to go present it all to DH now. Wish me luck and hope that he doesn't say "save the money and go to POP!"

I book room only at rack rates as soon as I know we will definitely be going. When a discount comes out, I modify it. If it is a package, but will still save me money, I go to package (and save the tickets to upgrade to an AP). If a room only discount then comes out, I'll switch back if it is a better deal. You can always modify your reservation, as long as availability exists.

The room only is usually a higher deposit, as we stay deluxe, so I don't need to up my deposit amount. Package and AP room only discounts usually come out pretty close together so no need to worry about cancelation charges. If cancelation/change charges were an issue, I might wait for the AP room only discount a few weeks in the first place and/or just keep the package if I did change, unless eating the charge will still save me more money.

What can I say? I'm cheap.

I'm really new at this and don't understand all the abbreviations and lingo. Sorry to bother but can someone please tell me how you get a code from a postcard? Do you have to be a Disney Visa cardholder? I know I'm waiting for AP discount, but I don't understand where you get all these other pins and codes from. We currently have res for Nov. 22 - Dec. 1, 2008 over Thanksgiving at Fort Wilderness. I was never able to get AAA rate for this res even though I booked it 499 days in advance. First time this has ever happend in the past 12 years. So, I'm really hoping for AP discount or any other discount. Next year we are booked so far for Dec. 5 for 9 nights with AAA rate.

Any help is appreciated.

the disney website has been timing out ALL DAY when I am trying to get an itinerary together. Anyone else seeing this?

I want an idea of what the rack rate and package rates are so that when I see the discount I can see what I would be saving etc.

I can't get the darn site to work

Anyone know offhand what the Halloween party costs?

and last but not least- Oct 16-20th what nights/mornings are extended hours for what parks?

Reg DDP. We couldn’t eat enough for Deluxe. We thought that the reg. was a lot of food last trip and we ended up buying tons of snacks to take home for our snack credits.

Believe me – if my 2 DS knew we were going they’d be racing around too. It’s going to be a surprise trip for them and they’re not finding out until that day.

PINs are discounts that are sent via email or postcard and they are sent at random. I had never gotten any until June. Since then, we’ve gotten 2 more. The first 2 were email and had some blackout dates during our travel dates. Today’s postcard didn’t have the blackout dates. PINs are not associated with the Visa. To increase your chance of getting a PIN, sign up for Disney related things – the vacation planning DVD, email notifications of specials, anything else you can think of. That’s what we did. I signed up and had DH sign up as well. Sorry you didn’t get the AAA rate for FW that far in advance. I’m surprised.
