Disney Visa 09/28 - 12/23 Code

Can anyone tell me what the Disneyland one was? DH and I are thinking of taking a quick trip in October, but I haven't seen any emails from them... we only got our card about a month or so ago. Was it a general one, or just specifically for some people?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :)

I was actually waiting for a deal for WDW, and was excited to see the email address from this, but alas, it was for Disneyland! :upsidedow Oh well! Anyway, below is the info from my email. I haven't found any code or pin in the email, just info on this deal. There was a bit more info, on hotels but I actually went to disneyland.com and right on that page it has all the info on this deal. Hope this helps you out with a deal for your trip! Good luck!! :goodvibes

I got a disney visa card and am hoping to get a disney visa pin or code or discount that is usually released in about a week or so from now. I was getting nervous about having some sort of room, with some discount, so called to book CBR for mid Nov with AAA. wanted to do a package with rm to be able to apply disney visa discount when it came out, but to use the AAA myself, I had to do room only. When I asked about tickets, he convinced me I should buy tickets then cause ticket prices would be up in a few days. I thought he said I could apply new discount and do a package, now I'm worried he was wrong and I jumped the gun and should have just waited.

I'm afraid that the discount that will come out first for disney visa will be for package only and I won't be able to use it, without buying another ticket to make package. That I would have to wait for the room only, and by then they may not have any available for CBR. (may not be a problem, as last yr I booked in Sep with gen. pub. discount, but..) Any chance they will convert my tickets and the room ressie(drop AAA then) into a package to use with the disney visa code(assuming one comes out I can use)? Or, should I call and drop the AAA discount now, and see if I can make my room and tickets I have separately right now into a package and then they can apply the discount code when it comes out?

I hope this makes sense and someone has some answers! I really don't want to have to purchase one more day of tickets to get a package, since I already bought 2 10 day hoppers, and another day of tickets. I'm thinking maybe I should call and cancel AAA discount and try to combine tickets with my room ressie at rack rate in anticipation of the disney visa code for packages, but just don't know if it's even possible or best..............

Well, I didn't really get any responses to this dilemma, here or in another thread I posted in, so I finally called WDW, which I was a bit afraid to do. Anyway, in case anyone is interested in the info, they said they can convert my room only ressie into a package with my already purchased tickets. They take off the AAA, of course, and just combine rm and tkts. But, he said to leave it now, so we don't lose our room or the AAA discount. As he put it, "there's lots of things we can do behind the scenes here, there's all sorts of things we can do to be able to use that code if one comes out". Hmmm... So, he said, that, yes, we could combine my room only with my 10 day tickets I already bought to make a package to take advantage of the disney visa code when(if) it comes out! Yay!

Bad thing is, since we'd be changing things, and ticket prices have gone up, the cost for my tickets would go up! Does that make sense? He said because I'm changing things, but they could be changed and I don't have to buy one additional day of base tickets to make it a package. I'm glad I can change, on the one hand. But, the increase on 2 tickets will still be about the cost of one base ticket, isn't that right? So, I do have to probably pay more for my tickets, one way or the other, but it seems unfair in a way. The first CM told me to buy, as the tickets were going up, but now they will change them anyway. So, even though I'll probably use the discount and make a package when the codes come out(hopefully Monday a.m., :goodvibes ), I'm still hoping they will also have a room only deal so I can keep the savings on my tickets! I'm afraid to wait though, for room only, rooms might go too fast!

Anyway, sorry this is so long, just thought I'd update the situation, and one way or the other, it should work out! So, now all we need is a discount! :)

Wow, three posts in a row, sorry! :goodvibes

I've been reading various posts here on the codes and rates board, and got to wondering something after reading some things.

Wondering about package discount rates vs. room only discount rates. So, would I get a better deal, or more of a discount on my room with a disney visa discount on a room with tickets package or on a room only, meaning would the discount on my room be more of a discount if it was part of a package? I know that they only discount the room, even in a package with tickets or tickets/dining added, but I got the idea they want you to book a package more, so I wondered if they may give a bit more of a discount on the room then? It just seems there must be something to that, or what's the point of making packages when either way the discount is on the room only? Does that make sense and does anyone know?

Also, if the disney visa code comes out Monday, is it likely to be only a package code, or will they let you use on room only? I don't consider room only if the package room discount is actually better! :goodvibes

Historically, when the codes have come out for the fall they are for a package. Even with the ticket price increase you'd still be saving money over what you have now, I would think. Good luck! Hope it works out for you.

How does a package discount work? Is it usually a better discount than just a room discount?

I have MYW package booked for 4 people for 7 nights and almost paid for. I have gotten a Disney Visa since I originally booked the package hoping for a package to come out (see below) I tried to make a payment yesterday AM and had problems.

Actually I went online yesterday to pay with my Visa it appeared to accept the payment showing my new balance but a note at the top said it wouldn't be credited until it was paid in full.....so I was confused... called CRO this am and they have no record of this and Disney Visa online doesn't show it either. So I am even more confused. The CM says it must have been a glitch in the system, she wasn't very helpful.

Since it appears that I haven't used it toward this trip yet will I still be able to get the discount? I want be paying online again, each time I try there is problem.

I can only say that I have experienced that glitch you are talking about, I make my payments by phone only now. Sorry I can help with the rest of your questionprincess:

Hi, if a package discount comes out, the discount will be on the room portion only.

Usually what happens is that a room only code comes out with one set of letters (no tickets, no dining). Then the package codes come out with one for MYW (just room and tickets), one for MYW with DDP (room, tickets and DDP), and one for MYW plus DxDDP. For all of the above, the discount is only on the room portion.

Hope this helps!

Okay...I know before I ask this that there is really no way of knowing...but I'm asking anyway. We went last Oct...stayed at POP. I know there was a Disney Visa code that came out for the time frame that we were there. But, we weren't able to use it....supposedly no rooms available for the code per our TA. This year, we are staying at WL. Is it "easier" to get a code in one of the deluxes as opposed to a value? Does that make any sense?:confused3 I really want a to be able to use a code...just for once in my life! :rotfl:

I would have thought you would have a better at chance at Pop than WL. AKL seems to be a pretty easy resort to get a code at for some reason. Check your dates on line and see which hotels show availability for your time frame... those are generally the ones you will see codes for. Good luck! :wizard:

Just bumping this question up again! Anyone know anything about this? I got to thinking about this more and wondering what is the point of offering a room/ticket package discount vs. room only discount if only the room is discounted anyway? If the discount on the room is the same whether you have tickets or not, what's the point of offering a package discount or room only discount, why not just one discount that covers either way you want to book, regardless of tickets? (hope that made some sense!) Anyone have any thoughts on this or know anything?

Oh, and, if discounts come out Mon for disney visa holders, what time should I expect to start looking for them? (I'm on central time, near Chicago.) And, where else will I find them at that time other than this thread, (which I will check first of course!)? Thanks guys! :goodvibes

Because you're dealing with the Mouse. Why discount just the room when they can profit off everything else you book too? Your tickets, DDP, etc? As we say in our house, that Mouse (gotta love him) has VERY deep pockets.

I've done this before, so you'd think I'd know the answer to this, but - are the deals posted at midnight, or 7am? I know you can't get CRO on the phone until 7am, but I want to have all my #s figured out by then.

This is getting exciting:cool1:

I am not sure what time people start to get the codes... I just know that I come here around 6:45 am and they start to leak out shortly there after.

Because there are many different ways to book a vacation with Disney. And not every family does it it alike. Some just get a room, some want a package. etc. It is the same discount no matter what code is applied. For whatever reason, the reservation system needs a separate code for each scenario based on what you booked.

I could be wrong, but I thought there were usually two codes - one for room only and one for package deals. I seem to remember reading about some having the wrong code for their reservation and having to come up with the right code because Disney - even though they are aware of the codes - can't tell you when you are on the phone with them.

Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will be basking in the glow of a great discount on my vacation! :woohoo:

good luck to all waiting on a code! :thumbsup2

OK I am a novice no doubt BUT as a Disney Rewards card holder, if I am reading this correctly I could see a discount come out on Monday? Where would I see this? Do I need to log into my credit card account? Will it be a mailer or email type thing?

Dying to plan another trip since we LOVED LOVED LOVED our very first one.

I can get flights for the three of us round trip from MI to FL for 158 each
If I can get rooms/tickets for a discount this might become a reality for us in October!!

wishes wishes wishes
