Disney Village

We will be arriving at DLP mid-late afternoon so I was thinking it would be a nice idea to check out Disney Village on our first evening there.

Anyone got any recommendations for a good place to eat there? And what else is there to do besides eat - I know there are shops but how long do they stay open?

I think the shops open till at least 11pm most night and midnight Friday & Saturdays.

There is sometimes entertainment in the village or in one of the bars.

I like Annettes Diner but there are many restaurants in the village.

Annette's Diner is big fun, and one of the places having longer opening times as far as I remember.

Not only that they have pretty authentic food in BIG portions, there's also some dancing/rollerskating entertainment right within the restaurant. The desserts are sinfully great (and another big portion there), and so is the variety on beverages.

If you like it the American way, Annette's should be on your list.

Personally I like Kind Ludwig's, too. And, well, not the haute cuisine, but there's also a McDonald's you can have a snack in. But it's crowded in the evenings and you should care for your bags etc. that could get lost in the mob in front of the cashiers.

And what I found out on my last stay was that the arcade hall can be pretty fun (just for those who like this kind of entertainment). The entrance is at the back of the village (direction of parking lots). The dancing stations have work-out qualities *lol*

We normally go to Annette's Diner on our first day as you don't need to book. The main tip though is to get in before the park closes as it gets very busy.

The burgers are very good and the dancing waiters are great fun. The main down side of the dancing waiters is that it can delay the food but we always enjoy it and just see it as part of the experience.

I'd been looking at Annette's on the DLP website, I thought it looked fun!

I also thought Buffalo Bill's looked fun and something different but not sure how pricey that is?

I love Buffalo Bills it's a great experience, if you book on the door it's about £45 a person if you phone and book in advance (are you staying on site?) it's £33 per person, not bad!

Annettes is great first place we always eat but if your looking for an amusement Buffalo Bill is on at 6pm and will take you through till about 8pm.

There is also a cinema and imax there plus bars with live acts and of course cafe mickey!!!

...aaand we should mention that you can easily spend a couple of hours in the several Disney Stores in the Village... Take care not to spend all your money right there on your first evening -- but it's nice to get an overview of what Disney stuff they got, and if you're in the Park later, you'll stumble into some shope having even different items..!

I just wish I once had a magical 'dads credit card' and then do the Disney shopping *hehe*

For a fine dining experience, The Steakhouse offers fantastic meals and wine.

For a fun dinner - then go for Annette's

For an awesome show experience that is very unique to Europe, Buffalo Bill's is a must (my favorite thing in all of DLP!!!)

And I also like King Ludwigs very much.

As far as shopping is concerned. The Disney Store doesn't shut until 1am

Ahh now I'm spoiled for choice!! Too much choice and not enough time to do it all!

We are staying at the Explorers, does the advance price for Buffalo Bill's apply to everyone or just those staying at a Disney hotel?
