Hi ladies,

We are going to add videography into our BEO I think.

I've talked with my planner and she's let me know about the mounted camera only option in the WP, which sounds good, but I am a little tempted by the complete package. The $3300 one.

My only hesitation is that we have such a small wedding party I don't know if a videographer hanging around for the day would seem really odd!

Have any of you had the videography with only 20 or so guests?

Ours is not a small wedding but I think if you want the videography you should add it. Most of the time, the videographer mainly follows the Bride and Groom anyway, so the number of guests doesn't really matter and I would think you'd be able to get more video of your guests with a smaller wedding. DFSIL just got her video back and they had 200+ people at their wedding and some people aren't even on the video at all. But it is nice to be able to relive your day and see things that you might not have really noticed that day. Plus with a destination wedding, there are bound to be people that can't come that you might have wanted to be there, or people that you just couldn't invite so having the video would be nice and you can watch it with them if they wanted.

As for it being strange to have the videographer there, I don't think it's much different from having a photographer and most videographers try to be unobtrusive and just stay in the background.

We actually opted out of having a professional videographer and asked DH's sister's boyfriend to video for us. He so kindly agreed and DH and I made sure to get him something really special for videoing all of our special moments..it saved us a ton..but still have a video of our wedding day..just a thought for you to think about.

Just FYI.

I have received the a new Wishes Wedding Videography PFD through from our planner in the last couple of days, and it has a new package on there.

$1200 for a fully edited disk, with bride and grooms arrival to the WP, and exit, and then the ceremony filmed on the built in cameras.

Perfect for what we need, and can be included in our minumum, which is why we wanted to go with Disney and not an outside vendor. :)

I thought we would have a friend to tape our wedding for us...however that is not going to be possible now. We will be looking into video and not sure if we are doing Disney or an outside professional like Starfruit Productions. I really like the sounds of this new package that they have added with the cameras in the WP...I will need to look into this and talk to Pam about it. Thanks for posting!

I had Stan from STVS as our videographer back in 2005. I only had 18 people in total and it didn't feel odd at all, infact, we forgot he was there most of the time because there's so much going on anyway. I love that I have my dvd to look back on especially now we have 2 boys who love to watch mummy dressed as a princess!:thumbsup2 I'd say go for it, you'll treasure it forever, I know we do!
