Where I work at, we have these meetings/presentations during our lunch hour called Lunch N' Learns. A co-worker will choose a topic and then present it to all of us. It is voluntary, but allows us to have a free lunch and learn about various topics. Usually, these topics are work related, but being a huge WDW fan I wanted to do one on planning a Disney vacation. The higher-ups agreed to it, and almost half the company showed up to see it. I was pretty nervous presenting it, but wanted to step out of my comfort zone. I am a computer programmer, and we are not really known for our socialization skills.

Well the presentation seemed to go good, because I received high praise from my peers and management and several people are now planning vacations (I should get a cut!).

If interested, check out my slides from the presentation, and let me know what you think. And perhaps if you are starting you journey for planning your first trip, it can help you out some too!

This is a great overview for those new to WDW or for even those of us whose plans differ somewhat than staying onsite or getting the dining plan. I have never done the dining plan comparison but was always curious as to the true benefit of that vs paying "a la carte". Hopefully your fellow emps appreciated the knowledge you passed on since it would of taken them at least a few trips to get to the same understanding. Well Done.

That was a very nice presentation! Really like the quick overviews and comparisons which simplifies it for a new to Disney person. Be prepared for people to ask you for help with their planning now. Thanks for sharing with us.

Edited to add - we used to do lunch and learns at the university where I work though it had to be work related. They were usually interesting and fun to interact with others. I might bring this up again!

Nicely done Jobie! The Lunch 'n Learn is a pretty cool idea.

nicely done ! Where I work people know to come to me for all of their Disney vacation planning needs -don't feel bad I've never gotten a cut either!

Yeah it is pretty cool. Usually it is more work focused, but they have always said that it did not have to be. I was the first to break the ice. Next week one of the new guys here is doing an introduction to Stand-Up comedy, which is a hobby of his. Going to be interesting.

No DreamsUnlimitedTravel slide?! For shame lol. Kidding you did a fantastic job and I LOVE the photos you used for the slides very cool.

Not on the slides, but I brought them up. I basically said that if they did not want to have to handle all the planning by themselves that there are several certified WDW travel agencies that will help them with no additional cost. I then recommended Dreams, lol.

I am going to be going on my first Dreams made trip December 2016, when I go on the podcast cruise. Can't wait!

Good for you for doing something different. I'd imagine that many of your co-workers feel they get enough "work" during the other hours of the day, nice to have a little break during the lunch hour.

You could always offer individual help over lunch.....with the "help-ee" buying!! ;)

Great slides, but you can not enjoy all the resort amenities unless you are a guest at that resort-like the pools.
