Disney Vacation's has a Cool way to Save $$$ for a DLR Vacation!!

There has been a lot of discussion about this program on the Budget forum. I haven't read it all, but there were a lot of people reporting negative experiences with this program. If anyone is interested in using it, you might want to consider checking out all those comments before committing to the program.

Why negative? Is money loss involved? tia

I read all the info, says you can cancel/withdraw money anytime...
Seems like a great deal to me!
Since I do not live in a certain zip code in Ca, or even in Ca at all... to get the monthly payment plan for annual passes, this seems like the next best solution... :goodvibes
Thanks for any comments.

I looked it over and signed up and I don't see anything suspicious. I'd love to know what the issues and concerns were. Seems like a great way to pay for our October 2015 Disney Cruise. :thumbsup2

I will be honest, my sister read it on Micechat :rotfl:
We are planning on a Nov 2015 trip, and I signed up for Bi/Monthy deposits.... it shows your goal ,and a chart.. it does look FUN!:woohoo:

You are Welcome, I am super cheap, so this really helps me!

It would be nice if Europe had a savings plan like that.
Lol.....no, really! :)

I'm honestly not sure what the exact complaints/problems were. I just remember glancing at some negative stuff. If I remember correctly, it was a pretty lengthy thread over on the Budget Forum. ETA: Sorry, I didn't mean my OP to sound so "Debbie Downer" but just wanted to let everyone know about the more in depth discussion that took place on the other forum. I hope everyone is successful at saving for Disney (or Europe), no matter what method they use. :-)

I think the main negative is you are stuck booking direct with Disney, so you might miss out on a deal elsewhere. One other point, I didn't notice if the bonus gift card only comes at $1000 dollar increments. If your vacation is $1800, do you miss out on the bonus GC from the $800 (need to spend another $200 to get another $20 GC?).

Thank You for the warning... I honestly thought, Wow! she is a Debbie Downer! LOL!
:thumbsup2
Giving it a whirl!!

I'm using the vacation account right now, and yes I have had a huge mix up with my account. It was my own fault however, I entered my email wrong and everything was based on that. It seems fine now. I am using my Disney visa to put money into it so I get rewards from both sides.

Good to know! I signed up, and have no problems with not getting the Gift cards, etc... since my whole goal is only $1400.00..
I also have no problem booking through Disney, so I am fine with it..

Let me know if anyone else is using it.

Thanks All!

I have one and used it to save for my tickets. Important note that I did not realize until after I signed up - you can use it for packages and ticket purchases, but not hotel-only reservations at DLR. You can for WDW but not DLR for some reason. So I will be buying my tickets with that account and save my hotel money myself because I needed the flexibility of a hotel-only reservation rather than a package.

I have a question. Say you sign up for 5 day Park Hoppers, and also for food. Do they send you Gift Cards for the food budget, or how does that work?
