Disney Vacation through Costco

You must be from Rutherford or Carlstadt or such? Maybe WoodRidge? Judging by your Name and you leaving out of Newark..

Either route I'm also Bergen County ...

Small world, Bergen County here too. I also fly out of Newark although last time due to airline delays, we flew back home into LaGuardia which ironically wasn't that much further away than Newark.

We just booked through Costco for this May. We spend a lot of time at Epcot and love the Boardwalk area. (After staying at a Boardwalk DVC last year- my kids expect to get funnel cakes and watch street performers every night.) The closest Disney hotel price-wise was Yacht Club and that was about $1000 more. The Costco Swan deal was about the same price as POFQ. We could have stayed at AOA (Little Mermaid Room) or Caribbean Beach cheaper- but it is worth it to us NOT to take a bus everywhere and to come back to the Boardwalk in the evenings for some entertainment.

For what it is worth- my friend who is a Disney travel agent could not beat the Costco deal for the Swan.

Nailed it!

I'm still trying to figure out if free dining gets offered, will it be worth it to stay at CBR, PO, or a value + upgrade to regular ddp, compared to staying at Swan and paying out of pocket for meals. The pools, the beds, the location, Kimonos and Ample Hills (right outside the back door) have to be given serious consideration. What stinks about CBR is that sure, it's called, "Epcot Area," but it really isn't - still have to drive anywhere. So the closest real comparison to Swan, would be Boardwalk or beach/yacht club which are considerably more. So it comes down to the location / amenities aspect for me when considering free dining. I'm still leaning towards the Costco deal because on the next trip, we'll probably be heavier into Epcot / Hollywood.

Yep La Guardia is actually pretty easy to get to...JFK is such a pain in the ****.....But that's where the cheapest flights usually are...

& usually I'm always trying to get a 6 p.m. flight out on a Friday after the kids come home from school, so it's hectic like crazy to get into the city. We had p.c problems trying to book jetblue for our last trip, and & supv. helped us out tremendously...She gave us the best rates & at the times we wanted along w/ baggage for $275 p.p. Out of Newark too...

We're N' of the bridge so it actually may be closer to get to LGA

You are much braver than us - trying to cross any bridge around rush hour would hVe me in a full blown panic. Our Sept trip we found United fares to be so cheap - I think total airfare for 3 of us out of Newark on a 6 am flight out was $526 round trip. I'm so dense direction wise pretty sure we're west of the bridge (we're off Rte 46). Have a great trip :)

When I was younger I could fit into those seats. United that is or Delta, American, Eastern, TWA, but now Heck no...@ 6'2" it's hard for my legs to be comfortable. So JetBlue reg. seats are 4 in. more And wider too.. Add that plus I get the aisle seat, so I'm good to go. Great rate you got there though...Nice.

The $3800 includes the airfare too. Without, the package is like $2500, airfare adds a ton lol!
That's a big difference for airfare. Is that when you'r spring break is? I'm guessing the flight down still falls during your spring break because it does for NYC, so that accounts for the high airfare. I don't like to book airfare with a package, because you have little control over times. The price sounds pretty fair overall.

As for Spirit - if you've never flown them before...DON'T. They are miserable and miserly. You will get charged for everything except breathing. We once flew them out of Atlantic City to Florida over President's Week break, because it saved us $700 per person for our group of 7, but we ended up paying close to $1000 in fees. Still a savings, but not worth the aggravation.
