Disney vacation savings account

Anyone else having problems with DVA and Disney gift cards. I bought 7 $50 gift cards at Target and only 5 went on my DVA account. After hours on the phone with Target, Target says that it's probably DVas fault. I called DVA this morning and told them that they drained 2 $50 gcs but didn't give me credit. They said this has been happening and to give it a few days.

Yes, the site is ridiculously glitchy today. I was locked out several times and it drained $200 in gift cards w/o crediting my DVA account. I shot off an email, but I may have to call. If I check my balance on the cards it clearly shows they were drained today so I better get the money back.

Just a heads up to anyone who has had problems putting Gift Cards into their account. I called the number on the back of my gift card today and spoke to a nice gentleman who said they are having problems with gift cards. They are aware of it and are trying to fix it, but they have no clue what's causing the problem as there seems to be no pattern to who/why it's doing this. He took down the numbers on each of my gift cards that didn't go through and said they are waiting to find out what they are going to do - put the money back onto the cards or into the accounts. He said they would call when they reach a decision.
So whatever you do, if you get an error saying there is no balance on the card and it didn't go into your account - keep the card separate and call the number on the gift card.

Thank you to everyone for your posts. They have been useful. I do believe I'm going to open a DVA and not tell my family. shhhh!! We are planning a trip for December of 17. I didn't even know there was a DVA, so where can I find out the specifics? And how far out can I start an account?
TIA for your help

DVA system is down for maintenance. I hear there are problems again. Sigh. Would really like to input some gift cards, so waiting . . .

Can you call and close your account and have the money you have in there refunded in the manner you put it into it?

Received this from Disney today via email. The last sentence (bolding is mine) does state you can withdraw at anytime.

Was just able to get into my account...hope it's fixed!! The email yesterday said they would email again when it was fixed, but I haven't received anything yet.

Everything seems to be up and running smoothly today! I made a couple changes to my accounts (yes...I have two. :rolleyes1) with no issues. Fingers crossed that it stays fixed!

I received another email from Disney today indicating that it was fixed. I was able to login and add funds to my account. Now I just need to move $1000 to my cruise reservation as onboard credit.

Old thread but a couple of ideas.

1. instead of using DVA to combine GC's, use disney gift card website to combine GCs https://www.disneygiftcard.com/ . Combine and manage your cards there and if ever need be, you can request a refund from your DVA account and it wont go to multiple GCs but to the 1 GC card you kept reloadeding on disneys GC site. Now I haven't done this but it only makes sense it would work that way.

2. Another way to save some money. Go to raise.com(you can buy disney gift cards here but never much of a discount), but buy a walmart giftcard. you can pick them up anywhere from 2% to 5% off. Use the Walmart gift card at Sams, as someone has mentioned and buy a $150 pack for 143 bucks which is another near 5%. load them on the DVA account and get your 2% GC from them. A bit of work but worth it. I am also earning an additional 1.5%cash back by using my CC at raise.com to purchase the walmart gc's
