Historically, have existing Disney Vacation Club members received early notification and sale opportunities at new DVC resorts before they are marketed to the general public?

I would say no.

There is usually plenty of DVC points to go arround until it sells out. So we really don't need to have advance opportunities to buy.

DVC members would find out just like everyone else, when new resorts are announced.

I'm thinking that DVC members had an advance option at VWL and BCV, don't recall about SSR. It also seems there was a price benefit during this offering.

I agree with Dean, we did get an early buy is shot at BWV, WL and BCV, also we did get advance notice on SSR and a special price too.

I also received an offering to buy SSR points that indicated current DVC members were getting first crack to buy at a discounted price before the points went on sale to the general public.

Of course I am now 50, so the memory could be a little fuzzy.

Not too fuzzy! We had the same offer for SSR and we took advantage of it!
