Disney Vacation Account

This looks like a nice idea but they are making interest on your money where you could get that for yourself if you open a regular savings account. I read on your link that they give you a $20 gift card for every $1000 you save which is only 2% and to maximize that, you'd need to make sure your savings is $1000 increments. If you saved $1995, you'd only get the $20 card where if you saved $2000 then you'd get $40.

I think a big part of the draw is convenience. You can apply payments to reservations through your vacation account, I believe, and a big plus is that you can consolidate all of your disney gift cards.

DVA might be a better deal if you're saving for a relatively short period (less than two years). I don't know of any savings account paying more than 1% annually.

And it's worth it for those who'll buy $50 gift cards at Target every pay day for $47.50 (5% savings), or buy gift cards at Krogers every time they have the 4X pump points specials.
