Just called Disney USA (407 939 7429) to ask for my 12 digit reference number and they say they do not recognise the UK booking ref :confused3
My UK ref is in the form 123456 (six numbers)
Anyone else has this problem?

In the past I have always got the US reservations number by phoning the UK reservations number. I think they get asked for it a lot as if I remember rightly when I called for it last time it was really quick and easy!

In the past I have emailed Disney US and got both 12 digit and also 3 letter+ 5 digit codes
Disney UK said they were unable to supply the 12 digit code and that I would need to contact Disney US :confused3
The fact that they do not recognise the UK res No. is concerning
I have supplied Post code, Surname, mobile phone no. and check-in date but still no joy

1st time (3 years ago) I tried ringing Disney US, they didn't know my UK res number, took them 20 mins to locate my reservation so I could make dining reservations.
Since then I have got my US res number from Disney UK.

I would just keep trying Disney UK
They used these 2 email addresses last year
WDW.DRC.WDTC.UK@disney.com
WDTC-UK@disneyinternational.com

As I said it took them 20 mins when I tried Disney US, they tried everything possible, eventually after 20 mins she said I will try one last way, if it doesn't work I would have to contact Disney UK, thankfully it worked but I don't know what she did.

I don't know if this is going to be helpful at all but there have been changes since the system upgrade in February. I got my 12 digit US number from Disney UK. Rang once, told no can do. Hung up and called back and they gave it to me immediately.

I used it with no problems in April for my ADRs. Then suddenly it wouldn't work to call up my accommodation ressie on .com.

When I tried to do resort online check in it didn't recognise it. I eventually called the (US) number on the screen and spent almost an hour on the phone, eventually with one of the supervisors who said since the upgrade, reservation numbers issued on UK bookings (even the 12 digit ones) were not recognised by the US system. Well it didn't matter to me but very interesting, when we got to the Magical Express, my US reservation number was written on my voucher and it didn't work. It then transpired that some months after the upgrade the UK bookings had had their numbers reissued as there was a new one on there.

Hopefully now that you are booking after the upgrade they have rectified it, but it was slightly annoying nonetheless.

The lady that I spoke to in US said that UK and US systems could not 'talk' to each other. :confused3
I have sent emails to both addresses, supplied by Wayne.
I will keep you informed!

Thanks Nigel

A few folk have asked about online check in and nobody has reported back as yet, but what you have been told and what I was told and saw when trying to use my number ties up together. I realise that my query with them was slightly different, but the gist of it seems to be that the US ressie numbers allocated to UK bookings are not 'compatible' with the US services, aside from at the check in desk at your resort. I am very keen to hear what they have to say.

In fact, I haven't asked for mine for my new booking so perhaps between the two of us we will be able to shed some sort of light on this. :)

When are you going again you have only just come back:rotfl2:
I find life much more bearable when I am either on a trip or have one booked :lmao:

Next September - before I finally join the August Club

Sorry to butt in with a side-question guys...

Do you need your reservation number to make ADRs? I just thought I should check, as I don't have mine and it's something I'll need to remind myself to obtain before March when our ADR window opens.

If you can make ADRs with or without the reservation number, what is the difference? Is it preferable to do it a particular way?

Lastly, do you use the link on the disney website?

Thank you!! :goodvibes

You don't need your booking ref if you don't want to link your meal reservations to your hotel reservation. Anyone can make reservations without it but if you want to take advantage of the benefit they offer onsite guests of 180+10 you will need it. That means at 180 days out you can make 10 days of reservations all at once, most of the time this is not needed but if you want some the the very popular restaurants it can be a big advantage to get the exact time you want, some book up very quickly.

This is something that I am going to have to tackle in Feb though I am not really sure where to start, I fear I might run into the same problems!:scared1: Does it matter who you book with or is it a general problem?

Good luck, keep us posted I hope theres an easy solution!:laughing:

Just had a reply......

Dear Nigel,

You will be able to begin to confirm your advanced dining reservation beginning on 12 February, 2012. Your twelve digit reservation number will be prepared shortly before that time so please resubmit your request closer to mid January.

Kind Regards,

Hello MapleGirlUK ....welcome to the DIS :wave2:
I see another Midlander has joined the gang!!!!

Thanks for the update Nigel.

Will look at contacting Disney at the end of November so that we get our 12 digit number for getting ADRs linking to reservation :)

So glad you got an answer back and thank you for the welcome! Been going to Disney off and on for 15 years and only just discovered the DIS! :woohoo:

Loving the advice and info, thanks everyone :disrocks:

I sent them an email two days ago and haven't heard back. I need my 12 digit number. My 180+10 window starts tomorrow!!

Might be better ringing them being so close.

I second this! They can sometimes take several days to respond to an email. Really not worth risking it, especially if there are popular restaurants on your list, or specific times you are wanting.

Nigel, thanks for the update. :thumbsup2 I wonder if this change is 'permanent' or if they are still working with it. I don't see why it needs to take them so long to be able to generate a reference number :confused3 Although I don't actually need one for next year, strictly speaking, as we are not making any ADRs, I am now tempted to start calling them and see if anyone volunteers to give me the number over the phone so far out from our trip. Worth a shot I think - all in the name of the DIS ;)
