Haha, I knew that! Darn me for being late to answering! It's the reason that WDW is it's own township. The city of Orlando wouldn't let Walt build it with fiberglass because of how flammable the stuff is, so he went and created Reedy Creek, and voilà, Cinderella Castle!
To answer George, there isn't one. No marker has ever been placed to mark the center of WDW. There is one in DL, though. That one is under Sleeping Beauty's Castle. The only "center" marker in WDW is a marker at EPCOT, which marks the "philosophical" center of the parks.
