Can anyone tell me how the experience was when you had to use your insurance purchased from Disney?
I'm wondering what they need for proof.
Did you have any problems? Would you purchase from them again? Thanks for your help.

This was a number of years ago, but we had to use the trip cancelation insurance because I had to have belly surgery in the coming month, and it worked fine. I had to send them a copy of a letter from my doctor stating I had to have the surgery, and I was able to get refunded with no question. We moved the trip to a later date, and everything worked out fine. I would advise to call Reservations and find out what the current procedure is in terms of documents, it might be different now. If I had to, yes I would use it again.

Personally, I would buy insurance from an company not related to Disney. But to answer your question you probably need receipts from every place from which you need reimbursed.

We used our travel insurance in 2008 and we needed hospital, hotell, and airfare receipts. The company payed it all with no problem.

I've had to file trip insurance claims a few times and always have had to submit doctor's letters (to explain why I couldn't travel) or doctor's bills (if medical care was needed during the trip). I also had a luggage delay once, but insurance kicked back the claim and asked me to seek reimbursement from the airline who ultimately covered 1/2 the cost of clothing we purchased while waiting for our luggage. You will need receipts for everything you are seeking reimbursement for.
