I was wondering if anyone on this board has ever given their kids a Disney trip as one of their Christmas gifts? I have just booked our trip for December 11-17 and want to surprise them with it a couple days before we leave. I wasn't sure how to do it though because I, of course, want it to be from Santa. Any ideas how we could do this? I have two girsl ages 7 & 9. Any help in finding a creative way to do this would be greatly appreciated!!

As your question is not DVC specific, I am relocating it to our Family Board where you should find some input.

Have about visiting a mall Santa a few days before? Try to arrange it with the photographers for Santa to give them a note/letter (something you wrote at home) stating they are going to Disney. After they are done telling Santa their list & getting their pictures taken, he could hand them the note. Have a wonderful time with your surprise!:goodvibes

Great Idea! But boy, I'd hate to be the parent of the kids following them

We surprised the girls both times. The first time we had a royal invitation that came from the princesses. This time they knew we were going but thought it wasn't until later in the summer. We sat them down for a family talk to explain that we were very sorry but we couldn't go this summer. My oldest had tears in her eyes. Then we yelled, "Cause we're going tomorrow!" They were beyond thrilled but I did feel a bit guilty, LOL.

In 2007 we surprised our kids at Christmas. I know this is alot of work, but this is what we did:

My husband designed a puzzle. It had the castle as a watermark backround and then it says "When you wish upon a Star...". We printed it on card stock and had them put the puzzle together. (You trace the puzzle pieces on a piece of cardboard to make the puzzle board). Santa could give them the puzzle and the pieces in an envelope. That way, they could put it together out of sight of other children. If you are interested, I could email you the puzzle so all you would have to do is cut it out.

Cinderella mailed a letter to DD last December and Santa left it for her in her stocking. I typed up a letter from Cindy & friends on pink paper, decorated it with stickers telling her all about her trip....where we were staying, who was going (because my parents went too), that we were going to meet Cindy at her castle & have breakfast.....I happened upon these cute Mickey & friends envelopes a(5x7 size & red) at the post office so I used that to mail it to myself with Disney stamps. She LOVED it.

You could also use the Fairy Godmailer thread that's on these boards somewhere and have someone send your kiddos a postcard announcing the trip!!!

Yeah, you might need to write on the envelope, "Do not open until you get home.";)
