Does anyone think it is better to buy travel insurance from a different company than the one offered by Disney???

Also, since I plan on a Land/Sea vacation, but am booking both parts separately, if I purchased insurance through Disney, I would have to buy it twice???

I purchased through disney and had an unexpected death in my immediate family. I received all my money back....including the airfare that i booked separately. the only funds that i didnt receive back was the cost of the insurance. I'm not sure on the 2nd part of your question. I would think if you booked them separately you are only insuring that portion. Might be best to call and ask.

Disney's travel insurance is thru Travel Guard which is a very reputable company. You might want to price out the insurance directly thru them to see if it prices better. There are several different policy options with Travel Guard, that over varying levels of coverage and price points.
I like the Protect Assist Gold plan.

I added on the Disney insurance for a trip a couple of years ago and then became sick the day before I was leaving. I called them to cancel and they were fantastic. I got the paperwork right away and my money back quickly. I add it on to all my trips now (I have elderly grandparents - one of which is not well). I have found their pricing comparable to other companies and their service was great!
