Disney Travel Insurance???

Can't decide whether to do the Disney travel insurance that they automatically add on to your package. I have a few more days to decide whether to have them remove it or not. It amounts to $134 for my dh and I (kids are free). What do you guys do?

Heck no! Worse case scenerio is you cancel a day in advance and it costs you, what? $200 max??? Even if you get the travel insurance...you still have to PAY FOR IT...so it saves you, what? $70? Big whoopie...I'll take the chance. One of us will have to be dying before we cancel and even if we have to, it's only $200...could be worse...

Yes! This last September we were at the World for a 8 day / 7 night vacation. We were not even half of the way through the week when we got a call that my mother in law was ill and most likely would survive the week. We left that day. I had to turn our trip into the insurance company, but I was able to get the rest of our tickets and hotel stay refunded, it was just over 1000.00. Luckily we didn't incur any additional expenses getting home, but I could have turned them in also.

The insurance covers so many different things. You can never tell when you may have to leave early or if someone will become sick while traveling. In my book it is well worth the extra security.

but what about airfare? it would cost me $600 to cancel/change our flights. THe CM said that if I bought the insurance before my airfare that the airfare would be covered too. I haven't looked into it to see if that's right. But that's my biggest concern.

I'm pretty sure I saw a disclaimer that eliminated the flight part...I didn't book our flights through Disney...it would cost me extra to cancel those as well...but I'm not counting that because I thought Disney insurance did NOT include your flights...could be wrong...

We use insuremytrip... We always thought we could cancle/ move things as need be incase something happened. We saw a friend lose a huge chunk of $$$ when her Dd got the flu the night before with no insurance. For the $85-100 depending on the trip we always get it now.
