Just wondering how the Disney busses work in regards to getting to Disney's Wide World of Sports. We will be staying at the All Star Sports in Oct. for a sporting event and allthough I'm not sure of the exact schedule yet I know we will need to be at the wwos quite early. Do they have a buss that goes directly there or will we need to ride a combination of bussses?(about how long will it take) How early do the busses start running? We will not have a car and this is the only thing that I'm concerned about. Thanks.

There is a bus from MGM to Wide World of Sports. I don't know what time it starts running. DH used it in March to get to baseball game that was in the afternoon.

It takes forever (1 hour+) and it runs on very limited hours from MGM to WWOS. For that short of a distance (from All Stars to WWOS) I would consider taking a taxi.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't even know you could take a taxi from one point to another inside of disney property. Do you happen to have a recomendation for a certain taxi company. I wouldn't even know who to call and would obviously want to pay resonable rates. Thanks again.

The bus between WWOS and MGM runs from 8AM to 8PM.

The taxis are usually sitting out front of the resort. If not just as the front desk or luggage assistance to call a taxi for you.

Exactly as the previous poster said about taxis. All Disney resorts have taxis waiting outside their main entrance. If one is not available (very unusual) just ask a Cast Member and they will get one for you right away. Disney regulates what taxis are inside WDW and they are a fast and reasonable way to get around if you are in a hurry or do not wish to use a bus transfer.

We took the bus from CSR to MGM and caught the WWoS bus, it didnt take all that long IMO, that is. We were there for a gymnastics meet and after it was over we had have them call for a taxi to get us back. It was really weird though because they had already locked everything up and had to call for someone to unlock the office to call. Anyway our taxi ride from WWoS to CSR was 9.50 plus tip.

You should also check with the event organizer. Sometimes they furnish bus service for participatants. The bus service if furnished would be a buses other than Disney.

Indeed, most events are supposed to charter thier own transportation. Even when they do, for some reason, they still utilize the Disney buses. Not quite sure why they take the free bus, when the bus they paid for is just sitting, empty.

AAU gymnastics did not provide any transportation, we had no choice but to use Disney busses since we didnt rent a car...I was under the assumption that it was a service that we could utilize.

The large groups are supposed to charter transportation for thier people. Yes, the Disney bus is available for one to use, however, the problem lies when you have 400 cheer leaders all clogging up the All-Star/Studios bus, so that regular guests cannot ride the bus. The dispatchers at Disney Transport have no clue when the cheerleaders require transport, so it's all a surprise to them. And it takes time to divert extra help from other areas.

Another reason is that the WWoS bus stops service at 8pm. After that, guests are on thier own.
