Last year we rented a house off site and had our van. We drove to the parks every day. This year we are flying down and we have rental car reserved for part of the time because my husband is flying down two days after us..so we have it reserved for him to pick up when he arrives. We have never been during spring break except for last year. This year we are departing Thursday of Easter weekend....Do you think having a car will save time as far as getting to and from parks during the busy week?? Opinions?? This is a last min. trip that we literally just planned this past weekend...just booked the rental. IT is just under 250 for 6 days. What do you think??

I don't think it will save you time. When I've been at WDW over peak periods, they have tons of buses running, more than what seems typical. The wait times were very short.

I think it depends...

Magic Kingdom... TAKE THE BUS! parking lot is likely to be busy plus you have to fight the crowds on the tram, monorail etc.

Now the others.. do you stay until closing? If so, either way you are STUCK in traffic at a busy season like this, so I just take the bus. It's good to let someone else deal with the "idiots" who think "they" should be allowed to cut over at the last minute etc...

Also at a busy time if you don't get there at opening you will probably be parking in what feels like Siberia... plus there will be LINES to get in to the parking lot (and with my luck the person in front of me wants to pay via a Disney gift card... which takes FOREVER LOL!) So you are back to trams etc....

It's not easy either way at a packed time, but IMHO it's less "stressful" to be sitting down listening to Disney music and not to be waiting in a line of cars just to get into the park.

Where did you rent a car. I can't get less than 450 for that week

There is a thread on March rental car discounts....several codes floating around. I am using Budget. If you look on that thread ....I think last page....I posted on there using the codes I found on that thread.

Good points. We had our van last spring break....don't remember if we had any issues with long lines for parking. I do agree on the MK tip though...the buses are a better deal because when we have stayed at Shades of Green...they drop you at the TTC and you have to take the boat or monorail...so we would always walk to Poly from SOG and hop the monorail from there.
