Disney transportation from MCO to Port Canaveral

Up until recently only guests taking Disney transportation from a Disney hotel or the Hyatt at MCO did not have to choose a PAT. It now seems you don't need a PAT either if you depart from MCO airport. A few days ago iloveeeyore reported receiving BG 3 on a trip in January and I confirm I just received BG 3 as well. I don't think this was known yet, unless I missed out on this info.

We always take the DCL transportation from MCO to port and I do check in usually the next day and seem to get a high BG#. For instance last cruise on the wish we got 16.
Checked in the same way for our treasure cruise and in fact got BG#3, I was literally shocked.
I don’t know if this is something new or not but I was super happy.

It's been a while since I've taken a bus from MCO, do those busses basically leave as they get filled? I guess it makes sense to just give all busses from MCO BG 3....

Yes they fill them and then leave and next one shows up. It’s so so easy to do. We have always just gone down around 11am or so and just leisurely get to the port as we have always had high BG# from mco.
Well since we are BG#3 I plan on getting down to the check in desk early so we can be on the first bus out at 10am.
I’m so excited, never had a low number before from the airport.

Another thought, not everyone coming from MCO will be going to the port early, say you have a later flight. I believe the last of the buses leave the airport at 1:30pm. We prefer to fly in day before.

We used DCL transportation on April 5th, arrived at check in at 9am and it was very busy. Desk opened at 8am. We were on the 3rd bus at 10:30am arrived at port, went thru security fast and by the time we got upstairs they were calling BG#. We were 3 and on the ship at 11:45pm. Headed straight to coco and there was a line already when it opened at noon.
Also the full document check is done at the DCL checkin at the airport now.
