Because there is no table service dinner option at AK when we're going to Disney (in November), we reserved a dinner reservation for Boma's at the AK Lodge on the day we visit AK. We're staying at the Contemporary and wonder about the best way to get back to our resort following our 6:15 dinner reservation that evening. There are no parks which have late magic hours for that evening, and MK closes at 8:00 that evening. Will there still be bus transportation that late to get us back to the Contemporary?

Thanks,

Rosie

MK buses tend to run until at least one hour after park closing, so if MK closes at 8, buses will probably run until at least 9. You should be able to catch a bus from AKL back to MK, then you can walk over to CR. Generally speaking, buses do not go from resort to resort.

If the buses really have stopped by the time you're done (I really think they'll still be going, though), you could always just catch a cab directly to CR.

Or, you can catch the DTD bus, and then transfer to the bus to CR. It is time consuming though. If the parks close at 8:00, there should be buses running for about an hour after, so you should be okay hopping a bus to MK after dinner.

The problem with that is that if MK closes at 8, then about 7 - 7:30 pm, the buses are going to go into "exit mode only", so that while buses may be taking folks "from" the Magic Kingdom to AKL till about 9:30, that same bus may not be returning to Magic Kingdom.

Since Epcot is almost always open till 9, you may have better luck catching an Epcot bus, then taking the monorails over to the Contemporary.

My advice is that after dinner watch for both Magic Kingdom and Epcot buses. Whichever comes first, take that one, cause as it gets closer to 8pm, there won't be any MK buses. I would take a cab before I would travel all the way to DTD, just to transfer. However, if you don't have little ones, you could make that evening your Pleasure Island/DTD shopping evening and then the trip over there wouldn't be wasted.

I really don't think you're going to have a problem. We spent a whole week at AKL. Lots of people came for dinner. When we took a bus somewhere for the evening, lot's of times we still stopped at AK, hours after 5 looking for people who were transfering.

When you're done with dinner, I'd go to the bus stop. When the first bus arrives to anywhere, tell the driver you're going to CR and if you can transfer from where is stop is.

We just ate there for dinner last Thursday. We ended up taking a bus to DTD to get back to CBR.

I'm going to close this one since there is an exact duplicate elsewhere on this board.
