Just a few comments on transportation during my recent trip to WDW. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
The Magical Express Service was great - I highly recommend it. It made coming in a whole lot easier, and leaving as well. We didn't have to wait very long on either end of the trip.
The Disney transportation system (monorail, buses, etc) worked very well with us during our visit. Even though AKL is a little removed from most of the parks, getting around didn't take any time at all. We rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus at any resort or park, and the buses got us around fast. Even getting from resort to resort, which I had read was difficult using the system, wasn't bad at all. So if you are staying at a WDW resort, unless you are planning on visiting parks other than Disney ones, don't bother renting a car. The hassle of parking and driving is easily gotten rid of using the transport system.
I hope this helps someone out there!
