Hi All,
I wonder if anyone can help me? Me and the family are going to stay at Port Orleans Riverside at the end of October. We won't have a car.

We have booked a few character breakfasts at 8am (the Parks open at 9am). I have also booked a Keys to the Kingdom tour which starts at 8:30 (I have been told to be there for 8:15).

The person I spoke to when making our Dining reservations said that we would need to get a taxi to get to these meals. However, I am sure I read somewhere that Disney puts on buses especially for character meals - so why won't I be able to use these? What time do they start and where do they go? Do I have to book them the day before?

If this option is no good we will book taxis. Another question - will the hotel book taxis for us? The reason I ask is the we are from the UK so using our mobile (cell) phones over there will be expensive. If, so who do I ask - concierge? hotel reception?

Thanks in advance,
Matthew :)

HI

I am in a similar situation in a few weeks actually! I have a breakfast at another resort at 7:30. Now for that, I do have to use a taxi.
BUT
I think in your case the park buses start running an hour Before the parks open, so not sure if that will work for each of your meals, but I am sure others will chime in here and let you know your best options! ;)

As far as POR, there is no true "private Concierge" but there are the CMS at the reception area, that help with all questions, dining info tix info. Not sure if we'll have to inquire with them (perhaps night before:confused3) OR ask outside the resort at the area where they receive packages/luggage, ME bus stuff....

Hope this helped a drop. By the way, we LOVE por, hope you have an amazing visit!! :wizard:

Buses for Character meals, etc. begin running at 6:30 am at all the resorts. Figure getting to your ADR about fifteen minutes ahead of time; and board the bus about an hour before your actual ADR time to make sure you make it.

If you prefer a taxi, go to Guest Services right outside the main lobby door. If there isn't already one or ten sitting there waiting, they will call one and it will miraculously appear within about 30 seconds.

Seriously, we were there about midnight and we just turned around and it was there.

Hard to see, but Guest Services for baggage services and taxis is underneath the canopy entrance to the left of the entry doors.

There is the Concierge Desk at the left hand side of the lobby open 24 hours a day, actually. The check-in desk CM's are on the right hand side. Here it is:

This is correct. I know Disney advertises an hour before opening, but I've been on a bus on my way to the parks much earlier than that. They do seem to run fewer buses that early, so if that is your plan, be ready for the bus at least an hour ahead of time as the PP suggested.

Every morning, at every resort, there will be buses running to the parks by 6:30am. Sometimes they may be up and running by 6:15. They do not run as frequently as regular park buses do. So plan accordingly.
If you need to be at the MK for 8:15, be out at the MK bus stop by 7:15. Yes, you may arrive at the MK early, but that's okay. Better to be standing there, outside the MK, for 15 mins, than standing at your resort bus stop fretting about being late.

It's easy to get a cab....there are CMs right there that will get one for you. Takes about 5 mins.
