Does anyone know when the first bus leaves for the Port each day? Are there multiple buses leaving at different times?

Does anyone know the cost for round-trip transfer?

Did you book your own reservation with the Hyatt or is this a package thru Disney? We booked our own hotel reservation with Hyatt and Disney transfers and are wondering the same thing.

I booked the Hyatt on my own.

Can anyone answer our Hyatt transfer questions?

We've always gone with the cruise line for air, so the Hyatt is part of the package, but I can't see how that would matter. When you check in, let them know you are a Disney Cruise Line passenger, and they should give you an information sheet. They may not since you won't have a hotel voucher in your cruise docs, but if not, the docs should tell you what to do.

The check-in for the bus began at about 9:30am in the lobby of the Hyatt, one level above the main concourse, to your right if you're looking at the registration desk. When you check in, they'll assign you to a bus (usually a character name). The first bus leaves at about 10:00am. In December, we checked in at about 9:40am and were on the second bus, which left at 10:15. The bus trip is not quite an hour long, and we were checked in and waiting in the boarding line by 11:30.

Just a heads up: we also booked the CMO Hyatt on our own (the Disney rates shall we say "stink," saved over $60 booking directly) but did purchase the DCL transfers (through DVC, which we are members of). After getting our docs -- which somewhat annoyingly contained conflicting (and somewaht vague) directions on when, where and how to catch the transfer -- I called both DVC and DCL to ask for more straightfoward instructions.

They both stated the same thing: DON'T get the bus from the Hyatt. Rather, the morning of your cruise, go back to the baggage claim area, go downstairs one level (to level A) to slots A29-A34. There will be DCL CMs there, and if like us you purchased transfers but not DCL air or hotel your names will be on their manifests. If you try to catch the bus at the Hyatt, your name will not be on the manifests the CMs there have, which could cause problems.

I got the same reply from DCL about NOT catching the bus from the Hyatt. I nevertheless decided to try my luck at the hotel first. They had my name. I had no trouble catching the bus directly from the MCO Hyatt. Like Mikeymars, I booked the hotel separate from the cruise/transfers pkg. However, I'm not a DVC member. I don't think it makes a difference, though.

Thanks Dee - as I suspected, the CMs I spoke to at DVC and DCL meant well but am also concerned that reality can be different than what they stated. Question - you state that "they" had your "name" at the MCO Hyatt. I'm presuming "they" are the transfer check-in CMs who were at the CMO Hyatt the morning of your cruise, and that your "name" showed up on their manifest (even though you didn't book the hotel through Disney). Is that correct? Also, did you bring your bags down to the lobby to transfer check in, or did you just put the DCL tags on them and leave them outside your room in the hallway? (asking because the DCL documents I received specifically state that those staying the night before transfer at the CMO Hyatt are supposed to tag their bags and leave them outside their room for DCL pick up).

Thanks Dee - agree, I don't think this issue is affected by whether or not one is a DVC member. Also, per your response, as I suspected, the CMs I spoke to at DVC and DCL meant well but am also concerned that reality can be different than what they stated.

Hmmm...That's what happens when I type a reply w/only 2 minutes to spare. Let me try to be more coherent.

The CMs at the Hyatt Lobby had my name on their manifest, even though DCL had no way of knowing I would be staying at the MCO Hyatt, since I booked the hotel separately. My guess is the passangers who purchesd transfers are probably on every manifest in the airport and surrounding hotels, but that's just a guess, based on my experience. I checked in at the hotel lobby (on the 3rd floor), and it was a very painless procedure, except the 20 minute-wait for the bus while I'm all rearing to GO! But I digress...When I checked into the MCO Hyatt, I told them I was taking the cruise the next day. I got an envelope with instructions on it -- tag your luggage with the yellow DCL tags in your booklet and leave it outside your door before 8:30AM. I wish I took a picture of the hallway the next morning (I arrived shortly before midnight on Fri.) It seemed like DCL-bound luggage was outside every door on my floor. I left mine outside my door as well (kept my purse and carry-on with me, of course). I next saw my luggage in my stateroom on the ship. Very nice. Since I was traveling by myself, not having to drag the luggage around was a bonus. I packed way too much, but that's a different post!

Any questions let me know.

Dee, thank you so much for clarifying. The experience you described supports what I suspected - in all likelihood, DCL probably gives every CM working transfer check in anywhere at CMO a manifest containing the name of everyone and anyone who has purchased a transfer for that voyage (either seperately as you and I did, or as part of a package). As you pointed out, that makes sense because they have no way of knowing where those purchasing seperate transfers are staying (they never asked!!!)

So, we will do exactly what you did - we'll tell the staff at the Hyatt we're going on the cruise when we check in, and presumably they'll hand over that infamous envelope. Leaving our luggage out for DCL to take care of is wonderful, one less thing to schlep down to the bus.:D
