Disney tracking of days used on ticket...

Have there been any problems with Disney keeping track of how many days have been used on a ticket?

I just purchased 10 day hopper, no expiration tickets. We'll be using 4 days worth of the tickets in a couple of weeks. What if I go back in 3 years and Disney says I only have 2 days left? (no days left, etc.?) They don't give you a receipt showing the days remaining on the ticket, so how could I prove that I have 6 days remaining on the tickets?

Maybe there's never been a problem, but I'm still concerned. I know you can ask at the resort, etc. and they will tell you how many days remain on a ticket, but what proof does a ticket holder have?

I'm not aware of any "proof" you can have, but if you're concerned I'd go to guest services before you leave the last park and talk to them about it. There are a lot of local businesses that buy "unused days" and resell them, so Disney seems a bit paranoid about the whole thing. I don't see how they can tell you without scanning in your ticket if you've sold to one of those businesses, so am not sure how they can reassure you on this. (sorry!)

JungleJim - There really isn't anything disney can give you to say what your tickets have left on them. The good news is though, that as long as you treat your ticket as if it were cash and put it somewhere safe - there is no way for it to use a day without someone passing it through the turnstyle.

It doesn't happen.

Disney's computer system is more reliable than the computers used to track your ATM transactions and credit card purchases.

Plenty of people have had trouble with the magnetic strips on tickets demagnetizing, but I don't recall ever hearing of somebody losing a day on a ticket.

Remember, the only info that's saved on the magnetic strip is the ticket's serial number; all other information, such as how many days have been used, where and when they were used, and the biometric information, is stored on WDW's computer system.

Worrying about the computer losing a day from your ticket is like worrying about getting killed by a meteor - theoretically it's possible, but it happens so seldom it's not even worth talking about.

The system is completely reliable.

I purchased 10 day non-expirating tickets right when they first came out. I only use 1 day at a time and have used 4 days now. So far it hasn't been a problem, I have always had exactly what I expected to be there.

To be completely honest, I have never even considered that before. But since I have 4 tickets, I doubt highly that if something did happen that it would happen to all of them. I would just tell them - I'm pretty sure my one 5 year twin didn't come over all by herself...

I really don't think it's a problem!!
