We are taking one day to check out the outlet store. I thought if the beach isnt to far away wed go and check it out! I see Cocoa Beach is about an hour and a half? Is that right? Is there a closer beach? Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

both are about 90 minutes away - Tampa - Clearwater Beach on the GUlf

and Coca beach - daytona beach

I just like the gulf better than the Atlantic.

this can be much longer than 90 minutes either way because of construction.

I4 is having major work done.

Been to Daytona on the Atlantic and Reddington Shores on the Gulf, My vote is for the gulf side.

What do you like better about the gulf side? Being from Kansas, I only think about going to the ocean with the kids, but maybe we should consider the gulf instead.

Also, I am interested in going on a dolphin watch tour (and maybe snorkelling too!). Please tell me about any companies that you are familiar with and how they are! Thanks, Nancy

I like the gulf - the water is calm (unless there is a storm in the gulf), and I think the water is lovely - emerald color.

I don't like the waves from the ocean side - plus the color - it can be brown - or a brown green color - not friendly...

also on the gulf side you generally have yards before it dips into the deep part - on the ocean side ASK - and be carefully!!!

the sand on the gulf side is generally white and I mean white - while on the ocean side it can be shades of brown.

they are just different.

but think twice before making this a day trip - wet child in the car for hours (and yes if there is an accident or construction it can be hours) is not my idea of fun.

if you just want to see a beach - go to Studios - take the boat or walk to Bc - they have a nice beach. You aren't surpose to go on the beach unless you are staying at the bc - but I don't think anyone ever checks this site.
