Disney To Open Theme Park In Texas

First, Disney doesn't sign options or contracts in its own name for something like this; it forms other entities to do so, so searching for "Disney" won't show anything. Second, nothing shows up in the tax assessor's records until the transfer actually occurs; generally Disney would tie up the property with options or contracts but wouldn't actually take title to anything until well down the road in the project. Third, although Disney announces its projects well before opening, they don't announce anything (in the U.S., at least) until they get the land under control.
Just so.

If there was one in Texas, it will take away the appeal to DL as TX is fairly close to CA.

I'm guessing you're from the East Coast :) . All the areas of Texas that would be considered are closer (usually significantly closer) to Orlando than they are to Anaheim. In the case of the Houston area, for example, you're looking at ~1000 miles to Orlando, and ~1500 to Anaheim...

edited to add... Not that I think a Disney park in Texas is a likely or good idea (much as I'd like it).

It's a 16 hour drive just from Houston to El Paso! I'd hate to see how long it would take me to drive to DL.

WDW is actually closer to me, than DL. Texas is a BIG state! It really depends on where you're living.

I was about to say that a drive from Houston to DL is 24 hours and the drive from Houston to WDW is about 15.

That's a 750 mile straight shot on I-10. 11 hours, tops. How many stops are you making? :)

There is a sign not to far from my house in Beaumont which says "El Paso 857 miles"

I shudder each time I see it.

Agree here.

This is what the did when building WDW so says the Discovery Channel special on WDW not too long ago.

Hi!

I was just there this past weekend, enjoying DH's high school reunion (not), at the Holiday Inn.

I always laugh when I see that sign and seriously, I can't say I've made that drive, even though it's always been my dream to see El Paso (not).

I actually got my hours from my ex-DH. I never could trust that man. :teeth:

Apparently, even successful real estate brokers have missed the obvious in this case. Maybe they aren't "good" brokers according to your definition. But one or two of them would appear to be highly successful. That's all I meant.
