Disney to buy SeaWorld - maybe ? Great attraction !

Per this website and article about Disney Corp bidding for SeaWorld.
I hope they win. What great attraction to add to WDW - and with Disney values I am sure SeaWorld will be great.

If their bid wins, I just hope they run a bus from WDW to SeaWorld and back. Even if it just departs and arives back at the TTC.

According to reports, Disney is among those showing interest in purchasing Sea World following InBev's takeover of Anheuser-Busch.

InBev has announced their plans to sell off Busch's theme parks division following their takeover which could take place as early as November.

The report mentioned Disney among those bidding for Sea World as well as Blackstone owned Merlin Entertainments which operates the London Eye, Alton Towers and Madame Tussauds. Bids are also expected from Spain's Parques Reunidos, owned by private equity firm Candover, and Gulf state conglomerate Dubai World.

According to InBev's bankers "We've been approached by several companies but this deal will be based on who can bring the money to the table to fund the debt needed."

Disney is an extremely diverse company. while SeaWorld is a great place, I don't think Disney would dream of touching it. It just doesn't have that "magical appeal" that Disney strives for.

Wow.. I gotta say that after having thought about this for a couple of days.. that is an immense amount of capital to tie up.. the facilities are pretty good but inopportunely located.. Not an impossible idea (DIS buy SW) but ... I am not entirely sure it's in Disney's best interest.

Just because you 'can' do something .. doesn't mean you should.. and this definitely falls in that category IMHO.

Seals.... lets see... I can't recall a good Disney movie with seals... Penguins... The Wild? but I liked them better on Madagascar! "Just smile and wave boys... just smile and wave".
Ohhh dear!!! The whole place would be called Nemo World!!!
