I am planning a short trip to Disney World (a long weekend for my b-day). I am looking at buying my hubby's ticket on Ebay. Are these real? Do they work at the gate? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

It is generally a VERY bad idea to buy WDW tickets on ebay. They may or may not be real, they may or may not be completely used (and are nontransferable if they have been used at all), they may or may not work at the gate. Disney is unlikely to help you if you get to the gate and say your tickets that you bought on ebay are not working.

There are some reputable ticket brokers that offer a small discount off WDW prices. We use Undercover Tourist and click the link in the mousesavers.com newsletter for a few dollars off UT's already discounted price. Other reputable brokers include Maple Leaf Tickets, Orlando Fun Tickets, and AAA. One broker may have a better price than another for the particular ticket you want, so you might want to check each website. Make sure the quoted prices include tax and shipping - the prices on the Diseny website do not include tax (6.5%).

There are few discounts available on shorter tickets, depending how many days you need.

As the others have said, ebay and craigslist are very bad places to get Disney tickets because you can't tell by looking whether the ticket is good or not and by the time you get to the park and realize it doesn't work it's way too late.

Just a few weeks ago there was a news report that $100,000 worth of Disney and Universal tickets were stolen from a travel agent's office. Those tickets were canceled by Disney, but I'm sure they'll make their way to ebay and craigslist very soon.

And a couple of days ago I had a family come to my Guest Services window because some of their tickets would not work. When I ran the tickets into the terminal it showed they had expired (reached the 14 day limit) the previous day although there were still unused entries. One of the people in the group told me that had bought the tickets at a time share (but did not remember which one) and not from an authorized Disney ticket seller.

How about you just send me that money you were gonna spend on tickets and I'll buy souvenirs with it, so it doesn't go to waste.

Don't buy your tickets on eBay. You may as well just throw your money out (or send it to me)
