Okay, here's the story: In 15 days I start nursing school. I am excited, nervous, scared, confident, and completely insecure all at the same time  In short, I am a mess, ha ha.

My school will basically own my life for the next 20 months (it is an intense program). It will all be worth it in the end, but I know it is going to be really difficult and I will be giving up my life (for a short time!) to learn how to save others :)

So. Here is where all you crafty people come in! On my desk where I will be spending a large amount of my time is a hutch with a cork board on it. I would love some help to come up with some ideas of some kind of Disney-themed collage that I can put up there so I have something to keep me movin/inspire me/make me happy while I am working. I am usually fairly creative but am having a complete brain freeze at the moment, so if anybody has any suggestions, please please send 'em my way! Thanks :goodvibes

Not exactly sure what you are looking for, but if it were me, I would cover the board in paper. I would likely do a solid scrapbook cardstock, but you could use Disney themed scrapbook paper.

Then I would use thumbtacks and just start pinning. Pics from past trips (with people and without ie. the castle or SSE); assorted memorabilia like old room keys (might need a strong adhesive for that), park maps, heck even napkins could be fun; a list of Disney to-do's or dreams; pics from random mail that Disney sends you; Disney paper piecings if you have a electronic die-cut machine.

I wouldn't feel the need to completely cover the board at first. Leave some "white space." Then there would be room for additions as you come across them, Disney stickers, or whatever.

Another thought, a park map might be a fun background too, but I would pin it in such a way that I could unfold it easily to look at it

You can also cover the board with fabric so you don't have pin holes.
Joann fabric had some nice Disney fabrics.

Awesome ideas.. thanks guys! I will have to post pictures when I start/finish it :)

I think you need to find pictures of Minnie as a Nurse for inspiration! For many years, Nurses who worked for Disney got Minnie pins for Nurse's day. I got some on eBay; take a look there first. Good luck! I did it, and so can you. Still working and no regrets. It is a wonderful career.

Slightly off topic and not entirely creative, but good luck in nursing school. I graduated in 2008. It's a tough class load and there will be times it will feel like a lot. They actually told us that if we had jobs to quit and to let our families know that we were basically non existent for the next 2 years or so.... But it was an amazing experience that I wouldn't give up for the world. I would recommend finding pictures of Disney characters sleeping...sounds silly, but it will help you remember that you may be deprived of it for a while but that it will come again! There are disney clip arts and such that would be great. I had a couple of them with disney characters with medical stuff (getting temp taken, etc) and I had one on my notebook for a while during school.

I will leave you with what we used to tell eachother before clinicals and I now say to everyone, including myself when I go out..."Do good things!" And when all else fails, use lime green....:rotfl:
