Well Hello There Scrappers! I just posted this question on the Community Board and lovestoscrap suggested posting my question here... I had no idea this board even existed! Very cool!
Let me first say I am checking out the stickies at the top of this forum to learn what I can about this topic.
I have been a traditional paper/stickers/pens kind of girl and am intrigued by the world of digital scrapbooking. These were the questions I asked in the last post.
Question 1: Do you know of a company that offers Disney images & backgrounds for the digital photobooks/scrapbooks (the ones you create online and have them mailed to your home?)
Question 2: Does it cost more to use the Disney-themed pages/images versus their standard themes? (I'm expecting the answer to be yes on this one!)
Question 3: Have you ever been able to use coupons/online promotions in conjuction with the Disney-themed pages/images?
However, now that I know I'm speaking to a bunch of die hard scrappers I want you to know that I am open to any and all info/suggestions you have for me about digital scrapbooking in general.
I'm sure that each person has different preferences in the digital scrapbooking world but I don't even know what the choices ARE.
Is there a website or blog entry somewhere that you would recommend that will give me a run down of the different ways people do this?
Last Question: It is VERY important to me to be able to write/type in names and details next to pictures... for me, that is why I scrapbook -- to be able to preserve the story along with the pictures. The stickers and backgrounds are just a bonus.
Is it possible with the online photobook companies (like snapfish, winkflash, etc) to "write in" on the pages or would I have to make an investment in some type of scrapbook software in order to be do that?
Thanks so much!
P.S. If it would help to know a little about my "style:" I am a "casual scrapper" - I go to a crop every 3-5 months or so. We've got a sweet baby girl now, though, which means 1) I've got lots more photos, 2) I don't have a bunch of time to devote to it and 3) scrapbooking seems so much more exciting now that I have a little one! I've always been a "function over form" type of scrapper (in other words, getting the pictures on the page and writing down the story has always been more important to me than each page being a work of art.) I'm hoping that digital scrapbooking will actually help me spit out albums faster (and maybe have some hope of not getting years and years behind) because all the designing would pretty much be done - I could just "pop" my pictures in and then type up the "story." Is that a realistic hope?
