Disney Taping & Camping Question

We have tickets to go to the taping at 9:30 am tomorrow. We live in Florida so are planning to drive over early. Do you think my plan below is reasonable?

To get to MK
1. Leave where we live at 6:00 am
2. Get to Fort Wilderness at 7:30 am
3. Take FW bus to ferry landing
4. Taken ferry to MK
5. Wait in line for entering MK

MK -> FW
1. Take ferry from MK to FW
2. Take bus from ferry landing to checkin area at FW
3. Go to our site

The alternative is we could go park at MK and when we are done just drive to FW. I like having a reason to use the ferry Okay, I really like having a reason to use the ferry. I spoke with someone on the phone and they said that the ferry starts at 7 am. I couldn't find this anywhere online or the message boards though. Oh - we will be doing this with a stroller, if that makes a difference.

I can cofirm that the ferry started at 7:00am back in September, if not a little earlier. Basically, if the boat is there and there are people to get on the boat, it will start making trips. The boat just isn't "scheduled" to arrive until 7:00.

Looks like you are arriving early, reservation for that day at the Fort? You can park in overflow lot if a site isn't ready, go ahead and register and you can be called when your site is assigned.

I reread your post, now I understand! You really, really, really like riding the Ferry!
Your plan will work but will take time to accomplish, if you can ride a 'little' Ferry the launches will start running too direct from FW to MK. But you can take the bus over to the TTC from FW and get on the Ferry there, then when ready to go back to the Fort using the reverse method. Just takes longer.

I would use the FW launches for direct service, then when you have free time, ride the Ferry from MK back to TTC then turn around and come back, double your pleasure!

We got back last night. We got to FW at about 7 am which was much earlier than we even expected. We figured we would try to check in. Our site was ready!! We then took the FW bus to the Ferry and the Ferry to MK. The stroller wasn't that much of a pain only for a minute here and there. We were able to spend time at the MK taping and then went back to our site. We ended up going to the FW campfire and fireworks.

Overall, the trip was much better than expected. We were right across from the main playground / pool area so we were able to walk to everything pretty quick.

There was one thing that happened with the campsite that I was really, really upset about. I did complain when we were there and will be writing a letter and mailing it to them to.

Thats how we survive between trips to FW, we live through others reports (and we always want the details).
