Disney TA conference

everyone got a 3night cruise for 2.

Lindym too funny my Husband was on the other side of the empty chair.

Its a small world after all.

That's too funny. Here, we talk on the boards, then end up at the same table for dinner and don't even realize we were both from the boards. Next year we will have to get a bunch of us from the boards together at some time.
What were some of your highlights or funniest times?

I hated those darn etags.

I loved Iwanna Dream, I am glad she isn't retiring.

California Adventure on Monday night was the ultimate though. But Tuesdays dinner show wasn't too bad neither.

I had an absolutely wonderful time!

I never dreamed that they would give everyone a cruise 2 years in a row. Since this was my first year, I figured I had missed out. What a fabulous suprise!

Poor Ryan! What a good sport.

I didn't mind the Ntags. I liked having my agenda, the park hours, and the ability to get other people's contact information. What I didn't like was the people who were obsessed with getting everyone's contact information and racking up points. Having someone else's Ntag shoved in my face constantly got really old really fast. There are pros and cons to everything, I guess.

Watching Susan Egan and Richard Sherman perform was the big highlight for me. For years, my FIL called me Meg because he says we have the same sense of humor. So getting to see the "real" Meg was a big kick for me. According to my parents, I could sing "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers" in its entirety by the time I was two years old. Seeing Mr. Sherman perform and sing that song had me in a big sloppy mess of happy tears. The man is living Disney history. Seeing him perform was fullfilling a dream that I never even knew I had.

I was able to record some of each performance on my camera. I've never done that before so I'm trying to figure out how to handle and preserve it. Once I do figure it out, I will post it on my blog if anyone is interested in seeing it. I have Susan Egan's "I Won't Say I'm in Love". I also have Richard Sherman's "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", "I Wanna Be Like You", "Winnie-the-Pooh", "Up, Down, and Touch the Ground", "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers", "The Aristocats", "The Ugly Bug Ball", "In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room", "A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow", and "It's a Small World". I was at a table in the very front row down on the end (in front of the band) so I had a decent angle and unobstructed view.

Hi Laurie:
I would love to see your video and your pictures. I was much further in the back and got pictures but not the greatest.
Also, would you have any pictures of Ryan winning his prize that night or dancing with Iwanna? If so I would love to see them.
Ryan was a good sport but I think he loved it. He is such a Disney fanatic that this was perfect for him.
It was so nice meeting you and talking to you on the bus on the way back to the airport Thurs.
Thanks
Linda

Just got home from our side trip to Vegas last night, I'm so glad to be home. The 12th to the 23rd was just tooooo long.

Enjoyed spending the little bit of time we had with you Laurie. I agree the ntag FANATICS were a but too goofy for me. I did love the clock and the agenda though.

It was great to meet you guys too! Always fun to chat with fellow Disney lovers. Especially when they are Disney lovers who are travel agents!

Yeah, I know what you mean about being gone so long, Cheryl. Between the ABD trip and the Conference, I was VERY ready for my own bed. But I wouldn't have changed a thing. Did you have fun in Vegas?

I don't have any photos of Ryan winning his prize, Linda. Sorry! I do have a few photos of Iwanna by herself and one of her with Tony Baxter. I can send those to you if you'd like.

Being the "thinker" that I am, I must follow the letter of the law and not post the videos on my blog. I don't even want to flirt with any copyright issues with video hosting sites and especially with Disney. It's just not worth it. However! If you'd like to see the videos, send me a private message with your e-mail address and I will be happy to e-mail them to you for your own private viewing. I only ask that you respect my decision and not post them on the internet once you receive them.

Did everyone get their snowglobes? Mine came yesterday, box was pretty banged up by snowglobe was in one piece.

Did everyone get the email about the press release and see the short video from the conference?

Thanks, Laurie, I sent you a PM with my email address

Laura got hers yesterday but no sign on mine yet!!

Did everyone get their survey to fill out?? When you finish, it shows you the video highlights (like the one they showed us there). :goodvibes The only breakout session I really did not enjoy was "untangling the web". Jetlag was quicking catching me during that one!! :scared:

Did your snowglobe come yet?
Is anyone else having Disney withdrawals as I am??????

I got my globes, and I was having withdrawl until I booked my free cruise for right after the earmarked conference next year and planned a birthday trip to Disneyworld in January. So now I am ok again I can start planning those.....that's so much fun to plan your own trip and not having to live through your clients all the time.

My snowglobe has not yet come!! :confused3

We are taking the cruise we won last year in Dec. so I am right now watching for decent air fare. Planning for next year's cruise, I am somewhat limited to when I can take it! You see, my son (who is 18) didn't want to go on this year's since his sisters (14, 17) were planning on hanging out in the teen club and he is "too old". He wasn't too keen on hanging out in the "adult only" areas with us (gasp!!). When we won the one last week, I told him. He reaction, a depressed "oh". Once I told him that his sister would be 18 next year......he then said "hey, this is cool!" :thumbsup2 Jeana turns 18 in Sept. Of course now, the youngest will be without a sibling....:rolleyes1 Can't please them all can I??!

I think I am going to add some days to Earmarked next year and bring the whole gang with me! Yes, I went to Land and am cruising the sea.........but I miss my world!! :cloud9:

With the cruises that you won last year was it hard to get the date you wanted? Did all of you put down 3 different date options or just 1? this was my first EarMarked, and not sure what date I will take the cruise but didn't know if I really needed to look at 3 different dates. Can't wait and can't wait for next year's EarMarked.

Last year's cruise we went last April and we only put down one date and then for this year again only put down one date and got it approved.

I got my first pick of dates. I had email Michael Rivera several times before I had faxed in my form because we upgraded our room to a Cat 5 and added 2 people. I needed to see what the additional cost would be. He was really great to work with. I don't think we decided on dates until May! If you want to add people or upgrade, you can figure out the cost on line. Early Dec was the most reasonable time frame. Plus, I can't wait to see the ship decorated for the holidays!!

we upgraded to also to a category 5, my cost in April was $500.00 and for August it was only $260.00 loving it.

Thanks everyone, at least I know I don't have to send in 3 different dates. Just have to decide when I will go. Another fun vacation to plan.

My snowglobe came on Wednesday of last week.

DH and I are going through discussions of when to take our cruise. We will be combining it with a stay at WDW, of course. But I'm very happy to hear that it isn't difficult to get your first pick of dates. We've already decided that DH will come with me to EarMarked next year since the Yacht & Beach are our favorite resorts. We'll extend a few days before and after.

Amazing how quickly Disney withdrawl sets in, isn't it? I leave for a girl's weekend at WDW in 1 week and 2 days so I am very fortunate. MNSSHP and Food & Wine await!!
