The family will be spending 10 days at Disney starting Dec. 22. We have made a tentative schedule so that we don`t wear ourselvers out. I have no interest in going back to Universal but the others want to. We decided however that our 4 year old would enjoy the Disney Studio`s live shows more than Universal (most of the Universal rides are for over 40 inches tall and she only a peanut) so I volunteered to go to Disney Studies. My question is if we go Christmas Day for a few hours what would be the best time ?early am ? and in what order should we see the shows. Any advice. I have to be back for 4 o`clock I`m cooking dinner! PS I`m the Grandma so I`m only good for a few hours at a time too!

Aside from the fact that Christmas Day will be very crowded, Saturday is the early openning (EMH) for MGM so you'll have to factor that in. I'm not sure if hours are modified for Christmas, but typically that would mean 8:00 AM. Based on our previous visits a lot of the live shows don't start until 10:00 AM. Meaning Beauty and the Beast, and some others. I'm not sure about Indiana Jones, The Mermaid, or the Big Blue Bear show. If you're not staying at a WDW resort I would suggest staying away. JMO

You can go to:

to get the times for the shows. Here is what I recommend for your grandchild:

Beauty &The Beast
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Playhouse Disney
Muppet 3D

You can probably skip Playhouse Disney depending on your "in to" Bear, Rolie Polie Olie, Pooh & Stanley your 4 yr old is. Also, if your 4yr old is a bit scared of 3D (as mine was!), you can skip Muppets too. So if you only want to see the 2 shows you can probably do VotLM 1st (the 1st showing after park opens) & then go right to B&TB. Now you just have to decide if it is worth the price of admission for that. If you want to stay all the way until close to 4pm then you could do all of the above & still get back in time to make dinner.

I took my 2 yr. old and he loved the Disney playhouse. It's a great show. Even if he's "not in to it", I think you should see it. My friends 6 yr. old also liked it alot and she's not into Bear that much. The muppet show scared my little one a little bit. He didn't cry but he was a little nervous and took his glasses off.

Good luck with your choices.

I thought Playhouse Disney was the BEST show we saw at the Studios. My Dniece does love Bear, Olie, Pooh and the like, but her favorite part was that she felt like part of the show, with the dancing and such. It didn't feel so much like a show to sit and watch, but a party to go to. As a preschool teacher, I thought this was the most age appropriate attraction at the Studios for the 5 and under set.
