Really surprised by all the Brown Derby lovers on here. I am not a fan. DHS is by far the hardest park to find good food at so this is an excellent topic.
I personally find 50's Prime Time hard to beat. If that doesn't touch your fancy than perhaps Mama Melrose would do the trick but again this is a distant second. If you aren't sold on 50's PT my suggestion would be to hit DHS early and get out and go eat somewhere else! Epcot offers a far better selection of food and it is only a boat trip away. Also, the Boardwalk area and Yacht/Beach Club offer some nice choices as well.
I agree with the Si Fi. They can keep the food. Just so so. I love the antics at 50s prime time. In fact...I recommend you put your elbows on the table just for fun! I do it all the time. We had a waitress who was a bit older and more from that era and she hit the nail on the head. She was fantastic...but that is part of the experience. If you are looking for a quiet sit eat and rest for a bit kind of place this isn't for you. They can get crazy in there...in a fun way that is.
Brown Derby is my favorite there-- but it's pricey and I'm skipping TS meals at HS this trip. We may do Pizza Planet for dinner but only because I have a Toy Story obsessed 4-year-old.
Otherwise, the last trip (when I was 6 months pregnant), I loved Sci-Fi. One of my favorite meals (lunch) that time. But I was totally craving burgers and milkshakes. lol
Sci-fi and 50s prime-time are stand outs. The reuben at Sci-fi is very good, and enough food for two. The theme of these places is outstanding, we consider them must-do. You can't find a place like sci-fi anywhere else in the world! Go there for lunch and Prime Time for dinner.
