Disney Stores Sold

Thanks Terry, it's nice to hear from your point of view!

We know TDS have been carrying adult clothes, but the selection just hasn't been the same as it used to be. We have only noticed T-shirts, sweatshirts, and some jackets. We used to buy men's dress shirts, ties, the occasional polo, etc.

I noticed that SSR has a good selection of more "upscale" shirts, jackets, etc. Of course, most of them have the SSR logo...but hopefully this is a sign of things to come throughout WDW and TDS.

My wife is a Disney Store employee and we are on our way to SSR on Sat (10/23). We have always received her disounts at the parks/store/resturants. Has anyone herd anything about TDS cast members loosing their discount at WDW?

sorry about the discount, but many will be without a job. There are a few more stores scheduled to be closed, not many but some.

Agree, but far fewer will be without a job with the sale than if Disney was unable to find a buyer.

hate the child's place. customer service is c***. Oh well.

Is Disneydirect.com still owned by Disney? Maybe we'll start to be able to get wdw stuff like the mail order line.

Yes, Disney Direct is WDC owned.

I agree that lately the Disney Store has been making some strides with more adult offerings. However, what worries me about the Children's Place is what they said in their own presentation:
- "New channel to reach the same customer profile"
- "Strengthens position in the newborn to age 10 category"

It's obvious that the adult demographic is NOT a priority for them. I'm afraid we'll return to the Pooh/Princess/Buzz wasteland from which we've only now begun to emerge.
