Disney Stores not making profit

Like others have said, they need more adult stuff. I have a gift card my boss gave me for Christmas. I looked in a couple different stores and TDS online, but found *nothing* I wanted. The only "grown-up" things they have are animated cels. They're nice and all, but my little $25 GC won't even come close to covering it.

I understand about focusing on a specific market segment, but they're sacrificing one segment for another. I'm sure they realize that or they wouldn't be doing it. I imagine it's a better way to control inventory while not spreading themselves to thin on merchandise. I still liked going there to find things to hold me over till my next WDW trip. That doesn't happen now. :(

How bout stuff for males over 3 foot tall? We have a Disney Play, and other than the pins and movies, it is not that great.

I'm in the same boat. My dad gave me a GC for Christmas, and I finally bought DD with it last night. I don't really buy anything anymore but I can always use the DD on a trip.

Does anyone miss the jewelry?

Lol, I'm sitting here reading this and thought - You bought DD with it? I didn't know you could buy DD's at the Disney Store - if my wife knew that we wouldn't have done the first two the hard way.

Lol

DD - Disney Daughter (or Dear Daughter as I sometimes say).

Like the others have said here, when the one opened here several years ago, I could buy clothes for both of my kids, and maybe for myself if they had fit (they wouldn't have then, but would now):). However, both of my kids have outgrown the kiddie clothes, and I WOULD like to buy them adult sizes as well as buy myself some. However, all they have is PLUSH, kiddie clothes and some kid toys now. Not much to choose from. A store of that kind would do a LOT better trying to market to more groups. Not the just 1 to 7 year old group.:)

There is a real lack of stuff for girls over 10. The catalog lists a XL size for girls 12-14, but NONE of the girls clothes are even listed as available in that size! DD#1 can't ever find anything there. A lot of the stuff for DS (4 1/2) is Pooh type stuff too, and he's a little too big for that even now.
I would spend more there if they hadn't closed the one near me--it's an effort to get to the one still open here--and I would like to go there this week because my sister is going to WDW at the end of the month, and I'd like to get disney dollars for my nieces, 14 and 10.

Oh well, looks like it won't matter soon what they stock....there won't be any Disney Stores left around here.   I saw today that the Danbury Fair Mall store has gone to Neverland.

With only have been to two............one in Hollywood & our now defunct one here. I'd say that Hollywood was great..........great selection of stuff.......clothing from what I noticed was mainly for littlies, but didn't take all that much notice.

When we went to ours here just before they closed their doors for good, we found it lacking in many ways. Yes, everything was on sale, but really they didn't have anything much at all. Clothing was for real littlies, they had a fair collection of stuffed toys, but apart from that, nothing terribly appealing.

I was hoping to pick up some magic towels(something we can't get over here), but no, not a one to be seen or even anything else in the knick knack line of things.

Very disappointing:(

Lower prices ( some prices are just ridiculous ) and more than anything clothes for older kids , my 10 year old can't get anything in the Disney Store because nothing is her size and she's not a big kid either! Clothes for grown ups would be nice too, I would be shopping there more if I could find clothes for my oldest and myself, soon I won't even be able to get clothes for my 6 year old either.

Cost vs. quality. How about some higher quality products for the prices we are paying? I rarely buy anything there any more. I will take the kids to look around but that's it.
