Disney stores closing?

The store in Greenville, SC is closed. From what I noticed they did not die but comitted suicide. Just like the other posters said, they quit carrying anything except very small children's items and movies.
We do have their little outlet over near Jonesville, SC. That is a wharehouse from which all of your catalog orders are shipped. They have bargins on a lot of items but you have to get past the Ebayers that hang around like vultures.
We now have to go to Pigeon Forge, TN. or Myrtle Beach, SC, both 3 hours away, to be at a Disney store.

The Disney store in my area is very tiny. I worry that it may close soon.

I'm going to move this to our Community Board for you.

There used to be 4 or 5 in Manhattan, and now there is only 1 (the one on 5th Avenue). There never used to be sales there, and now they have them often. In some ways, this store is at a great location, as it's in a very touristy area, but at the same time, it's kind of inaccessible for people who live in Manhattan.

nativetxn,

The Disney Store at Meridian Mall closes on May 2.:(

Someone PM'd me the other day to see they heard it was closing. I went in the other day to buy Disney Dollars and they are out for good.

She confirmed that they are closing on May 2. I felt bad, the Manager said she is out of a job.

The Disney Store in the Lansing Mall is not closing, as far as she knows. Kind of surprising, I thought the Meridian Mall store was quite busy.

I live in New Jersey and there's quite a few malls around me. The only two that I really go to are Willowbrook and Garden State. Both of them have Disney Stores but the one in Garden State just closed a few months ago. :( At least I still have the one at Willowbrook, I really hope they don't close it!

So far the 2 by me are still in business. I notice they do have alot more sales then they used to. When the kids were little I was in there all the time buying stuff. Now I go and buy my Disney Dollars and park passes there. The movies are more expensive then buying them at another store...usually you can get them cheaper at MediaPlay or Kmart/Target type of stores.

Here in Chattanooga, we had two..one in a huge bi-level mall (about 15 minutes away) and one in a smaller, but very busy mall about 3 minutes from my house. When the lease on the one nearest me ran out before Christmas, it closed. I walked in one day and BAM! It was just gone.

THe one at Hamilton Place Mall (the larger one) is a really nice store and seems busy, but I just never get over to that mall. I did make a special trip over last week to buy Disney Dollars with my GiftCertificate.com card gotten through MyPoints.

I was sad when it closed b/c even when I wasn't going to buy anything, I just loved going in before my trip and submerging myself in Disney "stuff".

I hope ours doesn't close!! I have 2 near me, one ten minutes east and one ten minutes west!

I have one in Woodbridge Center, but we never go in it anymore. My kids are 8 and 11 and there's nothing in there that they want.

We collect disney figurines. Remember the days when you could get a princess right at the Disney store - or Mickey and Minnie in wedding garb? Now we can only get them when we visit WDW. I miss the old store....
