Disney Store Upset!

it's happened more than usual this year as they recently moved their distribution center from SC to TN, also they are using way too big of boxes for small little items, what a waste!

I guess I have been lucky.

I've only ordered twice and got exactly what I ordered. I would be really annoyed if they messed up my order as I have it shipped to WDW and then take it home with me.

This last trip I did order a used book from a company through Amazon and it was not in the condition they listed it as. I e-mailed them from home when I got back from my trip and they shipped out another book without even looking at the dates that were on the shipping address. If anyone had bothered to look they would have realized I was no longer at WDW. I assume it went to Pop Century but I have no idea where it is now.

I have been lucky too, I guess. I have ordered multiple times from the Disney Store and have never had major problems...getting the wrong stuff. I did order a tree skirt and had it personalized. They sent me one without personalization and when I called they said to keep that one and they sent out another with our name on it. Works for me, my DD21 will have her own skirt for her first Christmas next year once she is married. Years ago I ordered a Mickey paper towel holder. When it arrived the arms were broken off. They said to keep that one (it was a fairly easy fix) and they sent another right out. Everything else I have ordered has been fine. Sorry OP that they didnt have your original item in stock. DD has that wristlet and it is so cute! Hopefully you can score another one quickly:thumbsup2

I've had the same thing happen to me twice.

First time was last year. I ordered a set of Winnie the Pooh antenna toppers and received a child's sweatshirt.

Two weeks ago I ordered a plush Maximus and received a Jack Skellington ornament. This one was particularly frustrating because Maximus was supposed to be a gift. Fortunately, I like Jack and he's happily hanging on my tree. Disney did give me a $10 gift card instead of a refund, which is more than I had originally paid..so I guess it worked out. I got a couple extra bucks and an ornament for the trouble.

Still..I'm leary of ordering from them now. I've also received damaged items before. Their customer service has been spectacular though. I will probably order from them again (at least use my gift card), but not order when I need a gift for someone. I think they have a policy that says if they over sell an item just to throw a random something in the box. My box arrived with a receipt with the correct order listed...just not the correct item.

*Oh yeah...yesterday... I got an email from them, asking me to review the Maximus plush. I guess there wasn't a note in my account saying that I never received it.

sorry to hear that happened, i am sure the CM at the parks will be much more helpful. like any retail place these warehouses do hire holiday help ho are not as precise in my experience.

i ordered once from the website and had problems. it was clothing. the pants were HUGE! i mean shrunk them twice and they still fell off. i also ordered a personalized sweatshirt in that order. the color of the character was clearly black and when i got it was brown, but i had ordered black font for my name on a white shirt! it was awful. the poor girl couldn't get the website to work to send me out a new one for free, so she refunded me and told me to place the new order myself. i took a sharpie to the brown one and wear it around the house since it was free. it was a shame as the quality on that item was good. i shop in their store now.

I made an order the other day for a regular Mickey ears embroidered with my husband's name "Nick" on it and a Minnie ear hat with the bow on it and my daughter's name "Lucy"... we got them today and guess what!? They both were Minnie hats with bows and yes, one has my HUSBAND'S name on the back... Nick! lmao... I think it's too funny. I've already sent a complaint in. Even though I was hoping to use these for Christmas presents, how funny is that?

Thanks for all the responses. I am hoping that they restock this item so that I can purchase it...again. The recipient was very understanding, of course, and I offered to buy a different one. The main reason I wanted the 40th one was that they met during the College Program at WDW and I wanted her to have another momento of that time! I might try calling the Parks but I have to find the number... Happy Holidays to all!

I know not everyone is comfortable going the e-bay route, but you can find tons of listings for NWT Disney Dooney & Bourke items there.

I live reasonably close to DL, and I still bought a DL55 bag on e-bay. I paid less than I would have if I bought it in the parks, and I loved the pattern placement on it.

Just a thought. ;)

And since this thread is a bit of a Disney Shopping rant, I have to share my story:

I wanted to order an item that offered personalization, but I didn't want it personalized. The darn website wouldn't let me proceed without putting something in the personalization field. So I called and asked what to do. The CM said to put "no personalization wanted" and submit my order. That's what I did, except I added capitalization and a few exclamation points to try and express my frustration.

Flash forward to when I received my order... you guessed it..... NO PERSONALIZATION WANTED!!! engraved on my shiny new item.

When I called to see if there was a plan B, the item was completely sold out, so they refunded my money and told me to keep my creatively personalized item for free. It's still sitting in a box in my garage. Maybe one day I'll pull it out and display it. I guess it could serve as an interesting conversation starter. :rotfl:

I don't order from them often, I didn't have trouble with my last order, but I'm struggling with the one I placed this month. I bought personalized bride and groom ears to give to my brother before their wedding next month. Placed the order at the very beginning of December, so plenty of time to get here. Got the email that the order had shipped, then a day later got an email that they were out of groom ears and they weren't sent. Ack! I called to voice my concerns, had I known that the groom ears weren't available, I may not have ordered the bride ones. They listened, and did offer me the opportunity to get them at the discounted price, etc. once they came back in stock. Later that week, I happened to see them on the website again. (Sidebar: why wouldn't you just mark my item as backordered, and ship it when it's available again? :confused3) Anyway, ordered it again and had it shipped to where we'll be at Christmas. I wasn't expecting it to be there in time though, since it had to be personalized, but at least it would arrive before the wedding. Monday I got an email that it was shipping already--woohoo!! But, for days now, there's been no change on the UPS site. Says that the label was created, but they haven't seen the package. So, I called again this morning. The gal looked into it and assumes it's lost. She asked if it was a Christmas present and I said yes. She's sending out a replacement by express mail, but said even doing that it won't arrive until after Christmas.

So, disappointed, yes. But, I really wasn't expecting it before Christmas when I place the order the second time. The folks I've talked to have all been very helpful--so kuddos to Disney for that.

Sorry OP, and everyone else who's had difficulties! :)

Hi, I was just shopping on Disneystore.com and I noticed they have the 40th Anniversary wristlet listed, so it looks like it is back in stock. Definitely won't arrive before Christmas, but it is available!

Sorry to hear about the mixup- hope you are able to get the wristlet quickly! I had problems the one time I ordered from Disney, but it turned out well. We had been at Disney and saw a particular glass ornament that we wanted but waited to get it at the end of our trip and then ran out of time to pick it up. No problem- I knew I could get it online, so when we got home I ordered it. When it showed up, it wasn't an ornament, but was a child's Disney hoodie (a really nice Mickey one!). I called and the CM told me to keep it and they would send out the ornament right away. Fortunately, the hoodie was a little big for my youngest dd and she has grown into the hoodie and still wears it now. I am surprised at the number of people this same thing has happened to. They must be incurring a ton of expense in extra items leaving their warehouse, employee time in resolving problems and extra shipping costs!:scared1:

They already sent out a replacement Mickey hat for me and told me to keep the other one (my husband is thrilled)... and they're sending me a $10 gift card as well. Works for me!

Thanks for all the helpful posts! I called the Disney Parks merchandise number and ordered the purse. I was told it would take 15 business days and I called a week after to check on the status. I was told it is "in the shipping area" but due to the holiday probably won't go out until next week. Fingers crossed that the item I ordered is the item that will be shipped(since I didn't see any more of them last time I checked the website). Happy New Year to everyone:wizard:

Glad to report that the wristlet has been received! It was ordered this time from the Disney Parks site(I called and placed the order)...I kept calling and checking since they don't send emails or even notify you when it is shipped.:confused3
