Disney is not going to keep unprofitable or negative comp (sales YTD vs. previous years sales) stores open as a gesture of goodwill. Remember Disney is first and foremost a business and not a non-profit.

There are leases to figure into the mix as well. If a mall isn't willing to work with them then they will close it. It is not just about sales. You have to factor in the lease and if the store needs to be remodeled and the costs of that as well.

I have been waiting for you to post....I didn't see your PM to me until the other night when we were writing our liquidation signs. It was an aweful night and I couldn't sleep. I got online and noticed your message. THANK YOU!!! It came at the best time....I needed that! I wasn't able to respond since I don't have enough postings for PM's. I cross my fingers nightly and say a few prayers that I make it over to your store....I can't give up after 16 years!!! Thanks again Lynn-

Companies are always testing the economic "wind" so to speak in a given market. Obviously something has changed in that particular market to cause their view of the area to change as well.

I was told by CM's at the Gwinnett Place store they had good numbers and it was recently refurbished and was a previous Gallery store. I have no idea why they closed it. I called to complain. I was told that basically the decisions were made and there was nothing that could be done. In the future that Disney might reopen some of the closed store locations.

i just found out today the store near me is closing...bummer, i shop there a lot.

We had a store open here 2 months ago. It even featured the "new red pixie dust" motif. It is being closed.

It does neighbor a Childrens Place store and there are some new malls being built nearby. I am thinking that maybe they will open something that is more Disney, less TCP in one of the new malls.

I have heard that Disney hates the TCP remodels. I actually went into a store in this area, that was remodeled, and thought that it was O.K., besides the hideous red "Mickey Mouse" head that you had to walk through. I am so excited to see what changes Disney is going to make with the stores.
