Disney Store Online No Longer Disney Store

A notice has been sent out by Disney Store that effective immediately online purchases are to be at www.disneydirect.com . The site is under reconstruction. I guess that The Children's Place will not be getting the catalog.

You are correct. The Children's Place did NOT get the catalog, the online store (hence they had to change their name), and the catalog outlets. Actually they have always been Disney Direct, but they didn't use that name publicly. I love the new catalog and new merchandise. It's almost like it was so many years ago, I hope they keep it up.

Actually, if I'm understanding the info I've been told, disneystore.com, which is now disneydirect.com, IS part of the CP purchase and will be owned by them. The catalog will be still owned/run by Disney. I'm sure there are a lot of kinks to be ironed out, but that is why disneystore.com changed to this disneydirect as the CP will be the new owners.

mickey4ever, it's funny how each District Manager tells their CMs different things isn't it. When the DM was visiting last week, the Disney Direct CMs were told that the name change from Disneystore to Disneydirect was because the online was staying with the disney company, since CP was buying the Disney Stores, the online could no longer use the same name, so went to their original name--Disney Direct. I imagine when you met with your district manager they told you the opposite. guess we'll find out soon.
