I just came from the Baybrook Mall and was surprised to see that the Disney Store was long gone.

It sounds like a lot has changed at Baybrook. I used to love the Disney Store, Warner Brothers Store and the huge Natural Wonders they had. There was also a cool music box store that carried a lot of Disney boxes and things. Not to mention Macy's.
I was talking with a clerk at Electronic Boutique on my last visit and he said he had heard the building is going to be a parking garage. I'm guessing it might be for employees since there is always plenty of parking, with the exception of the Christmas holidays.Anyone know what the big department store that used to be the men's Dillards is going to be?
Wow! Talk about a blast from the past. How long ago did that close? I know it's been quite a long while ago.Do you remember Chelesa Street
Yep. It was pretty state of the art for it's time, but got killed off when all the multiplexes began opening. It was new around the time the Loews opened on Fuqua (now a dollar theater), the Loews opened on 45 between NASA Rd1 and Bay Area (now closed) and the GCC opened at 45 and NASA Rd 1 (also closed).Anyone remember the old AMC movie theatre that used to be there?
The second Dillards used to be Macy's.I didn't know that one of the Dillard's stores closed. It always seemed weird that they had two Dillard's stores.
From what I have seen, I don't think it has. Crowds at Baybrook seem to be about the same as they always have.Has the Texas City Mall hurt the Baybrook Mall's business?

I've only been to MoM a couple of times, when I happened to be in the area for something else, and both times it was like a ghost town. The first time I went was about a year after it opened and I was surprised at the number of empty (no tenant) stores.I agree - the Mall of the Mainland is pretty empty and only has a few good stores, Dillards and Bath and Body Works among them. Baybrook is much nicer and always much busier.
