hey all! I am on my way to a conference in Chicago that just happens to be a couple of miles from the Disney Store. Is it worth the trek? I only have this afternoon free. We are also going to Disney in less than a month. It is weren't for that, I wouldn't consider not going:)

Which one? The one on Michigan Avenue is pretty nice, and there is all kinds of other shopping and dining nearby.

The one on Michigan Avenue is okay but unless there's something specific you're looking for, it's pretty much the same merchandise as all the Disney Stores.

It's a beautiful day, I'd suggest you go check out Millennium Park or the view from the Signature Lounge at the Hancock Tower or something.

Thanks! That would be the one I would go to. I'm staying at Sheraton tower so it's the closest from what I can find. Thanks! I figured that would be the case:)

I was not impressed with the Disney Store Chicago, however if you're into it they had some Chicago branded Disney apparel. I didn't buy any thing (at least not there Chicago Tiffany's was another story HAHA).

Thanks everyone! I was hoping to get my 10 month old something that said Disney store Chicago but I'm not going to waste the money on the trip if they don't have it.

Years ago some of the Disney Stores in various large cities were especially cool. The Michigan Ave store in Chicago, the Times Square(I think) in NYC, there was a cool store in Vegas at the underground mall at Caesar's, and there was a fantastic store in London. My more recent experiences were that they are pretty much all the same now, you'll run into a few location themed items like a Minnie Mouse Statue Of Liberty in NYC.

I love the outside of that building. If i remember right there was a few things that said Disney Chicago but i didn't buy any of it.

There was a guy on the corner handing out samples when we were there last month. Our hotel (Virgin) gave us a bag as well!

I ate a lot of iconic Chicago foods in Chicago but I skipped the popcorn. Caramel and Cheddar together jut make me do a :crazy2:

I did end up going. I got two pair of pjs for my daughter and a stocking hat and me a travel mug. I was going to get my daughter a Chicago Minnie, but with the $25 price tag, I had rather get her one from Disney World when we go in 26 days:) We also made a stop at Magnolia Bakery and enjoyed a delicious Pumpkin Spice cupcake!!
