You will need to travel to a hotel, then travel to a park.
This can take a considerable chunk out of your day so I would not advise it.
Also remember those buses won't start rolling until after DS opens so if you are thinking morning travel, you could miss the most valuable hours at the parks.

So you can't get into DS via Disney Bus, until after opening 10am? (10am is the current opening time) I had hoped to be there right at opening, so would a taxi be better?

Not sure but would assume buses GOING to DS would get you there for opening no problem. But you are not going to see them rolling back out of DS until 10 am .... so for anyone trying to park at DS to avoid parking lots at parks .... they would not arrive to a park until closer to 11 am if lucky. This would cause one to lose 2-3 hours of prime park time. Not worth it.
OP was asking about taking a bus FROM DS to a park.

Thanks guys - my thought was to have dinner at DS and they head over to a park for the night time show. We are staying at SSR so I guess we would just walk back there and catch one. Appreciate the responses!

Depending on the park you are going to, you may be able to bus to a close resort then walk. If you are going to MK, then bus to Contemporary and either walk or monorail. If you are going to Epcot, Boardwalk or Yacht & Beach Club and walk to the International Gateway. AK and HS are more out of the way, though HS does have a walking path from Boardwalk (it's longer than the other walks though).

Yes that's a thought. I think the Contemporary to MK would work. Having stayed at the Boardwalk a few times, I'm not sure that DS to Boardwalk to the International Gateway would be more efficient than walking back to SSR and taking a bus to Epcot from there. Or using the walkway to the Studios. I guess it would depend on catching a bus at the exact right time. And we have never stayed at SSR so I have no idea of how efficient the bus system is there. Live and learn I guess.
