We have never been fans of Downtown Disney - last time we went there was in 2000. So I haven't been paying much attention to all the construction news about Disney Springs, but I just read some articles about it and wow, it's going to be pretty nice!

One of the complaints we do have about WDW is we get kind of bored at night - can't spend every night at Epcot. :teeth: Disney Springs (once it's finished) will cure that complaint hopefully!

This looks awesome:

And all the other new restaurants, the Hangar bar, fun!

That's all - I'm just excited -we don't go back until late 2017 so hopefully the construction mess will be mostly gone by then. Hopefully. :tilt:

YES!!!

It is going to be AMAZING!:)

The Boathouse is already one of my favorite WDW spots!:)

I'd probably be more excited if there were a bunch of new attractions opening in the parks soon. I just don't care about a bunch of new restaurants, shops and walkways.

DTD has always been an adjunct to our fun in the parks. I just have never considered it a destination of its own.

I've never considered it a destination of it's own either, but it seems like it's going to be pretty fun. I'm excited about new restaurants. Eating a relaxing dinner in the evening is a big/fun part of our trip and I'm glad to be able to add new places in the rotation. And I'm glad there are more "adult" things to do at night.

New rides would be great too, don't get me wrong! (although Animal Kingdom will have a new show -nighttime, and hopefully Avatarland will be open then too)

I cant wait to visit Disney next September because i think by then, ALL of Disney Springs will be finished and open including an updated Planet Hollywood and with us staying at Old Key West, i cant wait to have it just a quick boat trip away

I'm still sour about Adventurers Club going away. Now DisneyQuest is leaving and that was a must do for our family, it is loud and chaotic, but we love it the same. We have a day set aside to enjoy it in September.

For the new stuff-yes I'm looking forward to the restaurants-can't wait to try Boathouse and have my fingers crossed that we get to try Morimoto in Sept. So I like the new dining stuff. Not too excited about shops-I love World of Disney and the Christmas Shoppe, those are plenty for me.

Excited for the end results. We have always felt that DTD was a huge letdown (2010-2014).

I was excited until they started announcing all the stores and restaurants. I think they're going for a higher end clientele, even though I spend more on vacation a lot of those places/prices seem out of my reach.

I looked at the menu of the boathouse, and I won't deny it's delicious because it sounds very good, but that is not what I can spend on a night out.

I'm very much looking forward to it, but I am a shopping and restaurant fan. I could spend three days at MK, two at Epcot...and at least two at DTD. Ha.

We were there last Sunday, and even through the construction walls, you can already tell the new areas are going to look beautiful.

For those who say they aren't too excited because it's just new shops and restaurants, don't forget that Downtown Disney isn't just for Disney Parks guests...it's for everyone in the area. So it may also be appealing to locals or visitors who aren't going to Walt Disney World. I think that the new additions will be nice for the guests staying at the closer resorts (Saratoga, OKW, Port Orleans, etc...) to have new options for dinner, shopping and drinks. Particularly for the DVC guests who might choose to spend more time outside of the parks, or just use their points for a resort stay.
I know many people will miss the old offerings and the construction is a pain, but the end result will be very nice, I think.

DQ isn't closed yet but is closing sometime in 2016.

That's what I thought.... Didn't know where he got that info from..

And I also see you have 3 days b4 you go...Niiiccceee.....Have a fun trip.:thumbsup2

We were there last weekend. As a non-shopper, it definitely turned me off. It felt like a mall, with very very little Disney magic. We're annual passholders and visit the resort about once a month, visiting DTD at least every other trip. Hubby already said we probably will skip it from now on.
