I'm thinking we'll just skip MK this year because I'm going to Florida wiithout DH, but with the 4YO son and 7YO daughter.

Sea World is better, I'm thinking, 'cause it's mostly shows, and I would think too many rides at MK wouldn't be doable ('cause I won't put them on the rides by themselves, and I couldn't ride them with two kids if they're two-person rides).

But am I wrong? Could I handle it solo?

I would so love to get back to Disney this year; it's been two years!

I think that they are at a great age where you could mange them both. Most rides, even if they have a seat for 2, are in cars for 3 or 4.

Splash site 2, but if you say 3 in your party, you or one of your kids can sit right behind or in front of the other 2.

Lots of rides you can put 3 in a row.

But, if they wouldn't feel comfortable riding in a row together or in the row right behind or in front of you, it might eliminate some rides.... Space Mt, Splash Mt, BT railroad, but that's really about it.

I know my 7 year old nephew doesn't mind it, but my 5 year old niece would prefer to ride with her mom or dad. I guess it all just depends on your kids!

Hope you get to go!!!

ITA. You could do 3 pretty easily on almost everything. Even Splash Mountain and BTM you can do with 3 (we've done 2 adults and 1 5 year old on both of those and had no problems.) HM you could fit 3 on as well. I'd say the only 3 rides you couldn't do at MK with 3 in the same "vehicle" would be Dumbo, the cars and Barnstormer, although I think your 7 YO would be fine right in front or in back of you and the 4 YO. There's really nothing else I can think of that you couldn't do 3 of that age. Good luck in whatever you decide, but I think it's totally doable.

thanks, guys, i'm starting to come around to the idea. like i said, i would LOVE to go back.

gulp! i think i can, i think i can, i think i can!

You can totally do it! :-) My girls are 5 and 4 and if given the opportunity, I would absolutely do a trip solo with them! Have fun!!

I took 4 kids solo multiple times (DH refused to go after the first trip). First time I went by myself the kids were 3, 5, 8 & 12. It was fine!

My wife recently returned from a trip with 3 little ones (6, 3 and 2). Most of the rides were just find for all of them to fit on one seat, even if it wasn't recommended. Dumbo was the only ride I saw pictures of two eldest riding alone.

I'm a single mom raising 2 girls alone. I've taken them alone since they were babies. You can totally do it. Most of the rides you can all go on. The only ones I can think of that you can't are the cars (Indy) Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, .....we go on everything, but these. We don't do astro orbiter, because Mom doesn't like it, but we even sit three across in Thunder Mountain. I take them all the time, and it's always fun and interesting. When they were smaller, I would rent the double stroller and give out snacks as we walked from place to place and it saved us tons of time. If you need moral support feel free to PM me, or let me know when you plan on going and maybe we can get the kids together. I have a 6 and 7 year old girl. They love meeting new friends. Lisa

I have taken my kids ALONE(all except one year) since they were 2 1/2 and 5. There are a ton of rides you can all three get on. If there is a ride like Goofy's roller coaster that that is not possible, I sit in the back with the youngest and reach up and touch my older daughter so she knows I am right there. We have gone 5 years straight. Enjoy!

I've done it when dh was in his conference. I set my expectations a little different - no one to run over to get FP's while the other gives the kids snacks, etc. It was fun though and Goofy's barnstormer was the only one where the older one had to go alone (we only did it once - he did NOT like it alone). We did IASW, Pooh, PHilharmagic, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Teacups, Splash, Buzz.

The one area that was a lot tougher was lunch - I specifically chose a spot to make it as easy as possible to maneuver - NOT based on food choices. The CS place with small outdoor seating area between Pooh and Snow White is where we ate. I waited until the table right next to the food line was available - pushed the stroller right up to it - and had the kids sit right there (with a juice box) while I was right in line next to them - watching them the whole time. This was easiest for me as I couldn't envision carrying food, pushing the stroller and getting a table all at once - while watching both kids too. Anyway - I can't even remember what they have there - maybe hot dogs, but it was the best setup for me with the two kids alone - so I would recommend it if you like the food there. Anyway - I'm sure that some parents are pros with this scenario, but it was my first time solo with them so it was new to me and I was happy to figure something out that worked so well.

Have fun!!!

I've actually seen 3 together in Dumbo and on the Speedway although I've never done it myself. I would probably just skip the Speedway since the kids would both want to drive. (At least mine would.)
We are a family of 5 and we also fit 3 fine on Splash, BTMRR, HM, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh etc...
The only rides at MK I can think of where I have never seen 3 across are the Barnstormer and Space Mountain. :thumbsup2

I've taken mine alone, they were younger than the 2 you are taking. (They were 4 and 2) You'll have a great time as long as you keep the days not too long and don't stress over the little stuff.

Just plan out what rides you can do (Haunted Mansion, Dumbo, Jungle Cruise, Aladdins' carpet, etc) and take a slower pace and enjoy!!! I wouldn't do a full day, maybe make time for relaxing in the room or pool.

I would think you would be fine at the MK with kids that age. My ds is 7 and would love the chance to ride a few rides in a seat by himself while I rode with dd (who just turned 5). Most rides can easily fit 3 anyway so there would be few places where you would sit separately and on those I would put my children in the seat in front of me so that I could see them.

y'all are VERY persuasive. i'm gonna do it, maybe with some help from a couple of you on these boards!

it'll only be one day, though, unless the piggy bank i'm about to take to the bank to sort in the coin machine has gold in it ...LOL

and my mom lives down there, so we'll be driving in for the day (an hour from WDW). it'll be Disney on the cheap! I seem to remember that you can even get PB&J sandwiches on Tom Sawyer's island, though that place worries me with my crazed 4YO son, who *refuses* to obey and is always running.

Don't forget - you can BRING YOUR OWN PB&J sandwiches in a small cooler and take them onto Tom Sawyer Island if you want (or on a nice bench in the shade anywhere break them out). Also bring some drinks and snacks. Solves the where/how to buy lunch thing that I had trouble with when I went.

Oh, has Disney backed off the "no food/drinks" ban? Even since 9/11, I'd thought they were banning all kinds of stuff now. I remember in 2006 they were very thorough in their searches and people were having stuff discarded... In 2006, I took a few small things that I could squirrel away, plus my then-2YO's milk, but that was it -- I was frightened off by all I'd heard.

Also if you are driving and want to stay near Disney but not pay Disney prices, there is a hotel called Enchantedland. Nope it's not enchanted...just the prices are..you can usually get a room for about 30-40 dollars a night...

We've always brought stuff but I haven't tried a cooler. Just a backpack full of snacks and empty refillable nalgene bottles (I fill them at soda stations with water.)
