Disney Showcase - WWoS

Our younger daughter's field hockey team is going down to WDW in February to play in the Disney Showcase. We'll be staying with the team at All Star Sports . We thought of staying at OKW but as chaprones that's out.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has done this sort of thing before (cheerleading, softball, soccer, etc.). I've heard there's some sort of special room/building/meeting area at All Stars, but don't know if it's just for coaches, players, families, whatever.

Are there any 'free' laundry facilities for uniforms?

Also, is there a cost to watch the games at WWoS? We have premium passes, will that get us in free?

Although I can't answer your questions about WWoS as I've never been there, I can tell you that there are laundry facilities throughout all of the All Star Resorts. They are not free (I believe it's $1 for the washer and $1 for the dryer - somebody please correct me if those prices are wrong).

All Star Sports doesn't have any amenities for sports teams, other than room discounts. Participants in the event can enter WWoS for free, but spectators or fans must pay admission. Premium annual passes include admission to WWos.

I managed a softball team in a tournament there last year. We had family members on our team roster that didn't actually play, but because they were "on our team" they recieved entry into the complex.

The one thing they do have now is bus service from All-Star Sports to Wide World of Sports durring competitions. They used to only have bus service between WWoS and MGM. So you would have to go from the hotel to MGM, then on to WWoS. We ended up using Taxi service instead.

The direct bus is a big improvement. The team will probably still keep the vans they have lined up for players/equipment. I'll also pass on the part about extras on the roster, perhaps an extra coach or so.
