Skelooch, I'm with you, Soaring is about as thrilling as I want.

I could very easily be persuaded to go down in May. Maybe we could get something started, How many of us youngsters could make it sometime in May
?

I'm not quite senior yet...just turn 54 on Aug 6th. Spent my birthday in Europe :woohoo: Next year I plan to celebrate my 55th in WDW. I lost my husband in 1999 and he loved Disney, it took a while to get the courage to go solo. But now that I have, I love it. I've met so many wonderful ppl from DisMeets, that I'm proud to call my friends. There is a group of us that have turned May and Oct into annual trips. It's great. Most of them are younger then me that they make me feel young. It's wonderful!

My birthday is also August 6th and I spent my 55th(last year) at disney celebrating with Dsis and Dmom. We had a great time.

I finally cornered my daughter for our trip in May. We are planning on going to WDW on May 22nd and returning on the 28th. I haven't booked it yet but will be booking soon. As I said, hopefully this will be my stepping stone to g solo in the future. I am sure my daughter and her friend will be heading to the parks more often than me. I do hope some will be going down at the same time as I am. It would be fun to have a senior meet.

DH is 64 and I am 61, and we LOVE Disneyworld. We have been with and without out kids and grandkids. Even though we love sharing the magic with them, our favorite trips are just the 2 of us - so much relaxing together time! I do get strange looks and comments sometimes from friends who just do not get it, but life is short. Do what you like! We bought DVC 3 years ago and have never regretted it. There is nothing like having my coffee on my balcony while watching giraffes and zebras graze at AKVillas

I will be solo at WDW on Friday, Sept. 17th. 'The kids' are going to the beach, but I didn't want go, so I am doing the Inspiration: Through Walt's Eyes tour. I think I will then go to Animal Kingdom. I would love to meet with some seniors if anyone is available!!! Pam

Senior is only a state of mind:rotfl2: I am a young 56 and LOVE all things Disney!!!

I usually travel with my Daughter and some times her friends, this September 18 to 26th, we will be joined by my Son, Daughter in-law, Grandson and Granddaughter for their first trip ever (grandkids) and it is a surprise:wizard:

I also join up with the Brits we met on the disboard back in 2007 and will see them for the 3rd time:banana: Can't wait:cloud9:

I love to people watch and and just go with the flow. I am a morning person and find it so relaxing to just enjoy the new morning with a good cup of coffee while at Disney.

On this next trip we are trying out 2 golf courses, both grands like to golf along with my Son, I am terrible but love it:rotfl2:

My sister and I usually take a cruise in the Spring, she is NOT a Disney person:scared1: so I try to do Disney in the Fall but my traveling Daughter will be going into the ARMY after this trip so my Fall trips may become solo.:sad2: Will Have to see.

Would be fun to meet some time.:thumbsup2

Love to see more like us: seniors doing "adult Disney" by themselves (all of our children have paws) We are 63 & 65 and joined DVC three years ago to provide our retirement entertainment and never get tired of wandering around both DW and DL and enjoying the dining. A Disney Senior Center like someone mentioned would be a great idea.

I'm a SC that enjoys going to WDW solo. I seem to be the only one in my family that loves Disney? I'm a DVC member also and enjoy quick get away trips to WDW several times a year!

My husband and I are both retired and love Disney. We live in CT but have a winter house in FL about an hour from Disney. We will be in Fl from the beginning of Dec. till around April or May. We will be at Disney on Dec. 9 and 10 . We will see the CP in the 10th. We also have tickets for the MVMCP on Dec. 14. We often go to Disney for the day - not nesessarily to a park- and have dinner. If anyone is planning a meet we would love to join you.

Not quite a senior yet either (54) but my children are grown with their own families now. I have 5 grandchildren ages 15,10,9,8, and 3. The entire family has made the trip all together twice. Next year I will be going for 9 days. I am taking the oldest 2 grandchildren, then a couple of days later my DD and her husband and daughter will be arriving. Then my other daughter and her husband with 2 other grandchildren will be arriving half way thru the trip. I don't think I am ready to go solo quite yet. My husband passed away a little over a year ago. Would love to meet up with some other "seniors" to explore the parks with one day.

I know how you feel. It has been almost 7 years since I lost my husband and I have not gone solo yet. I did make ressie and will be going down from the 22nd until the 28th with my daughter and her friend. I am hoping that some of the seniors on the board will be down there at that time for a meetup. It would be a great start for me to try to go solo. So, if anyone wants to meetup let me know.

Hi to Cocosmeme- I am also a MeME to three grandchildren. My husband and I are like you- we have been to Disney with first our daughters and then our grandchildren. Each of the grandchildren have spent their first Christmas at DW. We have a winter home about I hour from Disney and go there as often as we could- sometimes just for dinner at the Marketplace.

We will be there to see Whoopie Goldberg do the CL on Dec. 10- we are staying at Pop Century on the 9 and also on the 14 when we will go to MVMCP-

Anyone planning any meets then?

I wish I could join you. I will be at Pop Dec. 4th - 7th. Going to MVMCP on the 5th. I think I will plan to go to CLP on the 6th to see Ed Asner. I went last year and it was wonderful. Maybe another time we will be there at rhe same time.

We will be going to Disney in February 2011. We have been many times with kids, but this time it is just the wife and I. I will be 66 on our next visit. I have a standing agreement with my wife that I have to make at least one Disney trip a year. She doesn't enjoy WDW as much as I do, but goes along anyway. If only my feet didn't hurt so much I would enjoy it even more. I have always been fascinated with Disney and think it is the best vacation spot in the US.
