I thought I remembered a thread that mentioned Disney had a red stroller that they sold for $40 in the gift shops. Does anyone have any info on this? I'm wondering if they are still available to buy. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I saw them in resort gift shops and at DTD (once upon a toy). The ones I saw were black. They were okay, but do not have a good shade canopy.. really, it was more of visor. I think the canopy would really be a problem w/all the sun and rain down there!!

Thanks for the quick reply. We are renting a stroller from abbf.com and are contemplating not bringing our stroller for the airport. In case we change our mind and decide we should have brought one for the airport we'll be able to buy one for the return trip home. Thanks again.

When I was there in January I saw them being sold all over. Outside the stroller rental places at park entrances, resort gift shops and also in some theme park gift shops.

We bought one during one of our last trips to Disney.

I had a horrid umbrella stroller that hurt when I bent over. I was looking for something similar, so when I saw it for sale, I bought it. Kinda and impulse buy, but since I was considering a Macclaren, totally cheaper.

It's not the best stroller, but certainly not the worst. We took off the "canopy", since it made folding it almost impossible. I was looking for a tray in the front, but since it doesn't have one, I was shocked to learn that my daughter doesn't mind. It's annoying that it doesn't have cup holders. It's really light, which makes it great for buses and boats. Either it didn't come with a lock to keep it in the locked position, or we lost it, so it's a little hard to carry when it's closed.

I use this stroller as our main stroller. We go to Disney about once a month, so it does stand up down there. If you're worried about the rain, they do make rain shades. Julie's in a hat and glasses while we're down there, and she's not made of sugar ... so we don't worry about her burning in the sun or melting in the rain.

To the poster above me, my little Juliette and your daughter have the same name. I love running across people with that name since it's not common.

I most say you are the first I have never seen anyone else spell it the way I did. I loved this name so much because it is so uncommon. She has recently declared that she is now to be called Jules but she is debating on this spelling it Jules or Jewels. The mind that my 6 yr old has is well incredible what will she come up with next.

They do have the Kolcraft red and black strollers for sale in most resort gift shops. It definitely served its purpose during our last trip, and at $40 was cheaper then renting.

It has a small, make that very small mesh bag attached to the back. The canopy did fold up, albeit, off the stroller. You were able to attach the canopy to the side of the stroller when it was folded up.

We wanted to have two strollers with us for our DD's (4.5 and 2.5). We decided to bring one from home, and buy one at Disney. We brought an old one from home to help us get through the airports and gate checked it. On our return home, we threw the old one away, and kept the Disney one. Gate checked it coming home. It was a big help.

Thanks for all the info. I am bringing a ray shade just in case so maybe that would fit the kolcraft and be ok in the fl sun. Thanks again.

this explains why I saw SO MANY red and black Kolcraft strollers this year! We bought these last year and only saw 2 others our entire trip then - but this year they were EVERYWHERE! I would recommend bringing something to tie to the stroller handles so that your strollers are easily recognizeable and not picked up by someone by mistake. I really like ours because the seat is wider than most umbrella strollers I've seen. The sun shade is not really helpful - too small - but that's not a big deal for us. FYI---We also bought the rain covers from Babies R Us and have used them on 2 trips now - they work great with these strollers.
