I had a run in with 4 Disney Security officers about mid morning in Epcot 2 weeks ago. We were in front of the Living Seas and I stopped to take my girls photo with the Nemo display out front. DD6 started to climb up the ledge and I told her to get down (because that just isn't safe!). Just then I see the Security officers approaching out of the corner of my eye. Some light banter occurred about following Disney rules and because I had read a lot about Disney Security and the fact that they don't have a whole lot of authority, and besides the guest is usually right as long as no one gets hurt etc.... I wasn't worried about it.

They went their way, and I went mine, but few seconds later I heard "Miss, I'm sorry, but we decided that I am going to have to give you a ticket."

This Mickey Mouse Security Guy :rotfl2: pulls out a black leather ticket book, asks my name and proceeds to write me a citation. . .

IS THIS THE GREATEST OR WHAT????

I proceeded to wear this proudly displayed in the front of my ticket holder around my neck (DD10 was so embarrassed!) !!! A CM saw it at Soarin and thought is was so funny he took off with it to show his coworkers. They said they had never seen anything like it before and it must be one of the little touches for YOAMD. They all were gathered around it reading and laughing.

I am only sorry that I didn't have DD take pictures of us as he was writing it. I could see as he was writing that it was all in fun, but the kids couldn't and they were really worried that I was getting into trouble.

Definitely a little moment that really made my day and created a very lasting memory for me!

That is about the best thing I've heard (and seen) out of Disney in a long time. That's the kind of stuff I love!!

LUCKY YOU! :teeth:

How cool! I love the little things like that, I think it's what sets WDW apart.

What does it say in the middle? I tried saving it to my computer and making it bigger but that didn't help.

Do you mean the middle "offense"? The one where the fold is?

That says "Lanyard is over/under the pin limit". I actually think that is one of the funniest ones!!!!

I can't read any of the middle. What is the one that is checked?

This is awesome.

I've always maintained that it's the little things like this, the attention to detail, that makes Disney what it is. Love it.

my little girl got a ticket from security last April 2006 too at the Contemporary Resort.. I can't remember what she got it for though.. but it was cute.. I had to take pics of her getting a ticket! or citation

Now i can read it. I forgot that I have an accelerator from the server to make my dial up faster & it makes some pictures, etc a little blurry. I had to right click on it and click refresh picture with full quality.

That is adorable. Thank you OP for sharing this with us. It is the first i heard of them doing this.

That is simply the best wonderful. I have to admit when i saw the title i first
thought oh no a cititation!. But upon reading the post it is so nice to see and
funny :sunny:

They do (or did) this in New Orleans too. My dad once got 2 citations when we were there. One was something about not being properly hung over/inebriated for the time of day (he was completely sober and it was 9am). The other was for not appearing to be having enough fun.

I LOVE the ones listed on the Disney citation though. There's a couple on there I know our family is guilty of.

Well, I must admit that I was slightly concerned when he came back to me and said he was going to have to give me a ticket, especially since we really hadn't done anything. :confused3 But then the Disney Magic idea kicked in and for a fleeting second I wondered if he might give me some sort of "fastpass" ticket for some of the rides (sometimes CM's can do that). But as soon as he opened the book I could see that it was a Disney Magic thing and I was so excited. I was joking with him though about if I didn't cooperate if I would have to be arrested when he asked me my name. Of course my name was clearly displayed on my GOH badge!

DD10 was MORTIFIED. She couldn't see what he was writing and she was really worried. DD6 just wasn't sure what was going on! He was playing along that I was in trouble until he got to "Okay, what are you being ticketed for. Definitely Having more fun than the law allows." DD was so relieved! :rotfl:

I about died laughing reading all the other options. I am definitely a "Taking Pictures with the Lens Cap On" sort of gal! :teeth:

The funny thing is that this really, ultimately turned out to be one of our worst days at the world. Didn't enjoy lunch, hot, tired and cranky and stayed out way too long. We were all crabby after about 3:00 and didn't leave until after 7. Then on the way out DD lost her fanny pack.

But this was such a great moment. I am just so mad that I didn't hand the camera to my DD and tell her she had to take pictures of Mommy getting in trouble, or at least a photo of me and him with the ticket. I thought about trying to get another officer to "recreate" the moment later on, but it just wouldn't be the same! I will just scrapbook it with the pictures I took of them in front of the Nemo area where it all started.
