When I was in Disney a year ago, I saw at least two people have alcohol taken away from them. Can you imagine how much of that happens and if they do away with the bag check, how much WILL get in and think of the drunk people that will ruin a magical time!

Trust me, I am NO prude, but I would not want to deal with a drunk mother or father or even young adults who shouldn't be drinking in the first place!!

Just my 2 cents

But you can buy alcohol at EPCOT and MGM. So drunks are still (and I've seen them) a possiblity.

We're the people they are inconveniencing. And we don't really give a hoot about why they've chosen to inconvenience us.

The thrill of entering the park has been dampened. Heck, it is now a chore. Lines at bag check. Lines at turnstyles. Fingerprint machines. Ugh.

"They" meaning Disney? I don't think it is Disney that is inconveniencing us, rather it is the much broader terrorism alert that is inconveniencing us in many things we do, including tourists getting into the USA. So, as many of you quite rightly point out, you know the rules before you go, if you don't like them - don't go.
As for the fingerprint stuff, same thing, if the general Disney-going public was more honest and didn't abuse the ticket system then there would not be a problem for which you don't like the chosen solution.

Would be nice if they actually checked, not just made you unzip your bag. The last few trips the "checking" was a joke.

Why is this in the games forum? :confused3

I've been to Magic Mountin recently where I was astonished to see a row of 30 metal detectors like they use at the airports. Frankly, this was idsconcerting - as they are in fact looking for weapons since magic Mountian has a reputation for attracting rival gangs who have engaged in violence at the park.

Now... should Disneyland do the same or do away with the checks they currently perform? Well... I think that any effort is better then none. And perhaps it is sufficient for them to perform the type of checking they are doing now. An I for one would count it as a sad day when any Disney park steps up it's security to be like that used at Magic Mountain.... who also have a sherrifs' office right next to the park entrance.... staffed with sherrifs' officers who stand out front to watch the "patrons" as they go in or leave. I thought that was clearly aimed at a dim witted weapon totin' gang element.
